Greens were not in good shape
A lot of leaves on the green and dead grass also. Since this was a summer round I was baffled there were dead leaves all over the course.
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!
first off the lady in the clubhouse had terrible attitude and needs to work on her social skills, second the manger who runs it, and claims to have ran multiple golf courses comes up to me and my partners (total of 4) because we had a tee time at 8am and the people in front of us who were playing there own ball and had there kids with them, holding onto the back of the golf carts, were just playing slow so,we did what anybody would do unless there was a tournament going on that day, we decided to start on the back 9, and he came flying down after were about to finish the hole yelling saying you can't start at the back 9, you had an 8am tee time so what shouldve been a 3hr day turned into a 5hr day, the fairways were in terrible condition, the grass was so high the fairways were basically severe roughs, clumps of grass all around, dead leaves, greens were terrible and looked like someone ran a metal rake through them, believe me when I say this, DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT COMING TO THIS COURSE, if its either this course or stay at home, save yourself the money!!!
Could not tell you
I normally don't respond to reviews but this experience took the cake. Let me start by saying, this has nothing to do with the golf course but the site that I made the reservation on. How can you book a tee time for a golf course that is CLOSED? I got an apology and my money refunded. Where is the service recovery? Where is the responsibility for the person who posted the information? With everything going on, you want to at least be able to play a round at a golf course that is open!;Getting off my soapbox now!
Very dysfunctional. Had a 6 am t-time and there were six people playing ahead of us with no guidance from the staff. If anyone can start whenever they want, why schedule time slots??
avoid this course this year
This course is in absolutely terrible shape. The rough was incredibly long and unplayable at times. The fairways looked more like rough. Some of the greens were way too small as well. It's a shame because the layout is actually very good, and the course has a lot of potential.Look elsewhere to play, as I will certainly not be back here.
Course is in terrible condition. My wife and I have played many times in the past and knew not to expect too much, but right now they should not be letting golfers out. Holes 2,3,4 are unplayable and we had to skip (course rule, no one can play these holes). Paid for 18 holes but only got to play 15. Pro shop did not even inform us that we were supposed to skip those holes, had to read a little sign. Please save your money! Do not play!
Overpriced, overgrown, and underwater
not much good to say here. course was covered in standing water, grass was extremely long, zero cart paths, and extremely expensive carts. Round was way overpriced. will not return. considering asking for a refund.
Course should've not opened...
Well, it was a disappointing experience here today. We arrived at 5:45AM for our 6AM tee time and were the first ones out on the course. Chicago did get hit late last night with a storm that should've probably shut a course like this down.
Unfortunately, no grounds-crew walked or drove the course to inspect it's condition and it was HORRIBLE.
Uncut fairways, no markers on the tee boxes, and massive lakes in the fairways that even with a great drive or iron shot you couldn't locate the ball OR get it because it was sitting under 4" of water that was 20ft in diameter
After about 4 holes we called it and informed the staff we would like a refund because this was not something we would say is playable conditions. They should've let the course dry out for the morning and only had afternoon tee times maybe.
I will eventually give this course another shot when the weather leading up to the round is a bit better but today's experience was a bummer.
By the way, I have played plenty of other Billy Casper Managed courses here in Chicago and never had a similar experience. Hopefully this was just a fluke.
With the weather as bad as it’s been, it’s easy to see why it’s been hard to keep up the course. People with the bad reviews aren’t taking that into consideration.
