Reviews
Perfectly solid midwest course
A nice little challenge, sort of Links-ish style golf with blind water and some small hills/mounds that lead to some blind shots.
Cool layout, bad condition....even for February
Prairies is a cool course layout but honestly I'd never play there again unless someone told me they'd reformatted everything. and really worked on the grass. The pace of play was horrendous with several groups in front of us driving to every ball and not worrying one bit about others behind them. Even though it was February I expected the tee boxes to be in a little better condition but it was hard to find any grass on some of them. The greens were in decent shape but the fairways were pretty banged up. The layout is pretty fun and challenging but the pace of play kind of ruined the day. I am happy however, that I was able to secure a tee time last minute but it would have been a better value for $25 not $37. It was good to be hitting the sticks but they've got more work to do at the Prairies before I'll go back. Hopefully the course will grow in nicely. I wish them luck in working out the kinks.
Not bad for the off season
I was really surprised on how well the greens rolled for it to be Feb...not to mention the condition of the fairways..looking forward to the actual season and hoping the course stays on top of the golf course
Great Course for the Price
My husband and I played here for the first time and loved it. The staff is incredibly friendly and the pace of play was perfect. There is a decent amount of water to make it challenging but it’s still fun. This is one of our new favorite courses!
Spongy greens
Greens were in great shape looks wise but very spongy. Interesting course. Not much difference between fairways and rough or the tee boxes. Bunkers overgrown and honestly would just better off be grass. Good course for muni play though.
The Prairies Staff
The entire Staff at this club has been nothing short of incredible every time I go. The course itself also is in best shape it’s been all year! Greens are looking good. Would recommend this course. Great value, great people.
Ok course
If you’re looking for a cheap round of golf and not worried about losing a few balls this is a decent course.
It’s tough distinguishing between the roughs and the fairways, as the grass is about the same length.
Greens were nice, but super fast even after a downpour of rain. Price was right though and staff was super friendly. All in all I’d rather play a better course and pay a little extra.
Greens are rollin’
Great greens, great layout, short par 4’s. Awesome place for a day out with the boys.
Course looking better...even for winter play
The course has come a long way. I used to play it weekly before moving on to more challenging courses. Since they've gone to a new management team and gotten a new superintendent, the course seems to be making a turnaround. I look forward to seeing what it looks like in the regular season
