Over the winter BD’s pro shop and club house went through an updating with fresh paint, new computer and point of sale system. The course survived our miserable winter and spring really well and the course is in great condition. Many of the traps have been reconditioned which should help the pace of play - which is typically pretty good. The course itself is a great place for all levels of golfers and is forgiving for new golfers and challenging enough for experienced golfers. It’s not a long course but there are a lot of holes you can hit driver. The only tho g lacking is a driving range but they do have a driving cage which provides a place to warm up before the round. The staff is super friendly, knowledgeable and genuine in their efforts to make your round of golf fun.
Fun course managed by friendly staff
BD presents a relatively open layout without punishing a golfer who does not hit a long ball. Most greens are open in the front with traps on the right and left and trouble over the green. The course is in great condition in spite of the heavy rains in July and early August. There is some water but it only comes into play on one par three. The par 5s are not overly long and can be reached in two - at least from the whites. The course does not have a driving range but does have a driving net. The putting green is average but functional. The one real negative is the complete absence of rangers so pace of play can be a problem - especially late in the day. Food and beverage service is available but nothing out of the ordinary. Due to its location adjacent to Route 25, there is some road noise.
Early morning golf
Had a great golf day with my son. Round started earlier than scheduled tee time. Starter and staff very friendly and helpful. Course in good shape, little hard to find balls in rough. Greens in good condition very good roll on them. Definitely will play here again!
Wouldn't recommend
Course was wide open. Played very slow, no dress code. Greens weren't in great shape. Won't play there again. Not with all the other courses in the area that are far better.
Good Value for the money
it's not the Taj Majal of golf courses, but for a park district course, it's in good shape. It's kind of an "old-timey" layout. Some of the par 4's are pretty long and play into the wind, making them really par 5's for most players. A serious golfer probably would not like, but a recreational golfer would love it.
This course sucks!
I am on my high school golf team and we have to play here for tournaments. Every time I come here, it takes forever to finish and we're always stuck behind multiple groups. Some staff are really rude and others are very friendly. The greens are filled with divots that haven't been repaired. To play here is a waist of time!! Wouldn't recommend!
Love it
I am going again this weekend had a great time trying to get my friends to go to
Fun to play
Took my grandson and had a great time. Although it appears short. The narrow fairways and rough can make it challenging.
Great autumn golf
Middle of November and course is in fantastic condition. Greens more difficult (fast) than I remember. I'll be back soon!
Fun day for the money
Still in great condition this late into fall. Great value.
Great Course for Quick Round
Bonnie is a fun and forgiving course with enough of a challenge to make for a quick enjoyable round of golf. While it lacks a driving range it does have a net by the first hole that gives the golfer a chance to loosen up. It does have a practice green conveniently located to the first and tenth holes. The course was in great condition and the staff is super friendly.
Great local course for the money
Bonnie Dundee has come a long way since I started playing here 7 years ago. The greens are still fairly simple. But the fairways and rough are very well maintained. This is a great course for high handicap players. Plenty of holes with the potential to score on. For me this is a great course for getting out and playing a quick 9 or 18. I have always been able to get done in under 4 hours for 18. Fastest was 1:45.
Staff Problems
This course itself is a nice course, lots of short par 4s which make for a quicker game. The only problems we had was with the course ranger. We had Back to back Tee times with 6 people and played 3v3 best ball. Not the type of group that is going to be searching for balls for more then a minute. The course ranger came and yelled at us multiple times telling us we can't play like that because the place was to slow, yet at no point was anyone waiting behind us. We switched to a regular style of play and We were actually waiting on the 3some in front of us all day. Very frustrating.
