About
Crab Orchard Golf Club originally opened in 1959, but in order to keep up with modern courses, it has seen many beneficial changes over the years. Though the design of the layout has fluctuated, Crab Orchard is known among locals for consistently offering superb conditions. The scenic golf course features lush fairways winding through stands of mature oak trees. Water hazards come into play on half of the holes and the small greens have subtle breaks, which can make them difficult to read. The golf course is quite formidable from the championship tees but the forward and middle tees make it approachable for all skill levels. In addition to the course, a popular feature at Crab Orchard is the large driving range which boasts target greens and a practice bunker.

Pretty Easy and Iffy Condition
Played this course for a Hot Deal of $10. I wouldn't pay much more, as it's not in great condition, and doesn't offer much of a challenge. Most of the holes are straight and short, especially on the front. The back gets a little more interesting, but is still very easy. My biggest complaint is the course was in fairly poor condition. Many of the fairways had large bare spots. Most of the other grass on the greens and tees was fine, but I continuously found myself hitting off dirt in the middle of the fairway.
Friendly, quality course. Great place to play
What a great course to play on. The people are friendly, the course was in good condition considering the bad weather that we have had and there was not any slow play noted.
I will play there again.

It's always a please to play crab orchard. There is a rich history and a lot of knowledge there.

A Gem in Southern Illinois
Course in great shape. Greens were lighting fast and very receptive to approach shots. I'm a 4 handicap and played from the black tees, and it was all the golf course I wanted. I'll move up a set of tees next time for a little more enjoyment. Overall, would recommend to anyone of any skill level. Practice facility is also very good, and a lot of room to work on any part of your game.
The course was fun to play and had enough challenge to make the game competitive.
It was the first time we had played this course and we did enjoy it. The fairways were tight and there were many trees and sand traps. The course was flat but water on many holes and rolling greens.
Great all around
Well maintained course with a friendly staff. Great course that isn't over challenging but not easy either.
