Zero communication with 8/6 7:00 am tee time
My father and I were in town for the Yankees/Cardinals game and had plans to play in the morning to kill time. Having never been in this area, we booked on GolfNow to avoid issues. We arrived at the course around 6:45 for our 7:00 am tee time (supposedly). The signs said the park opened at 7 as well so we were worried that we may be late so we did show up earlier.
We waited for 45 minutes along with a few other cars and called the golf shop 5 times (I have the call receipts on my phone).
Around 7:30, what appeared to be a maintenance worker showed up and informed us that the course was closed, had standing water and more than likely wouldn’t be open until Monday (8/8) or even Wednesday (8/10).
The fact that I was able to book on the Tuesday prior (8/2) and received ZERO communication from the course shows everything. I have tried to get a refund for the booking fee on a course that wasn’t even open but until they open back up, I can’t have anything done.
Disappointed and if I ever do return to the area, even though the course might be a gem, I won’t be returning
I really like this course.
This is a nice flat course & pretty surroundings..
Great Round!
The greens are in very good condition! This course has come a long way now is fun to play!
Worst course in the STL area
First of all, on the website it was $20 a player. I paid the convenience fee online saying we would owe $40 at the course for my fiancé and I. We arrived and were charged $30 per player.
Worst greens I've ever seen. Useless to try putting. Rough was so long we were losing balls left and right that were 2 yards off the fairway. Just a terribly kept course. Embarrassing. I wouldn't play here again if you paid me to.
Worst Course in STL
I play pretty regularly, played this course for the first time and it was miserable. To start, our cart was old and squeaked the whole time. The fairways were basically the rough. Weeds everywhere on the course. Greens were like putting on carpet, borderline unplayable. If you are going to IL over the river, try Acorns or Mystic Oaks if you want a lot better value. I feel like I was fleeced for my money.
This course was the worst course I’ve ever played
I’ve never played a course that has no clear distinction between the fairways and the rough. It was like playing in a field of dandelions and clovers that happened to have a green at the far end of it. That being said, the greens are in pretty good shape, best part is since it’s all an open field, you can just drive right up to them. I’ve never written a review about a course before. But this was one of/if not the worst course I’ve played in Illinois
I really like this course.
The fairways were still soggy & there were still puddles of water. We had to quit at 4th hole because it started raining hard. We will go back
Happy Golfer
If it wasn't for getting caught ill the rain (in the middle of our game) it would have been great. I will definitely go back on a better weather day. I did enjoy the course before it started to rain.
SOME THINGS NEVER CHANGE
I GUESS SOME LOCAL BUSINESSMEN BOUGHT THE COURSE? WELL, MAYBE THEY SHOULD STICK TO OPERATING BUDGET SUPERMARKETS, THEY SURE DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT THE EFFORT OF REGENERATING A DILAPIDATED GOLF COURSE… JUST SAYING!!
Meh
You get what you pay for. Course was super backed up after front 9, played that in 1.25 hours and then it took an hour to play 10-13. Course was super burnt out and there was no difference whatsoever between the rough and the fairway
Major improvement
The first time I went to this course it was terrible. The fairways were 3” high, the greens were actually browns…it was like they didn’t bother to take care of it at all. Mentioned it at the clubhouse and they said it was being renovated and things would be better by 2020. I was nervous to give it a second chance though cause it was SOOOO bad the first time.
They weren’t lying. This time the course was so much better. Nicely kept fairways, greens in pretty good shape (a few had large holes that would be hard to explain how they got there), and it was a course I would definitely play again.
