Klein Creek Golf Club
About
Klein Creek Golf Club sprawls across acres of rolling prairieland in the western suburbs of Chicago. Trees frame the layout's gentle doglegs and tall prairie grasses border the fairways. It is a golf course that offers both beautiful scenery and a challenging round. Several lakes also dot the landscape, coming into play on almost every hole. The abundant water hazards are often coupled with spacious, intricately designed bunkers that are also usually paired with wood retaining walls. Contoured mounding frames the fairways and greens as well. Klein Creek Golf Club's layout is not easy by any means but it's fair, offering room for error on even the tougher holes with wide fairways and generous landing areas. There are a variety of approach options for the greens as well, providing great risk-reward opportunities.

Shouldn't there be sand in a sand trap?
I recently played at Klein Creek on a 75 degree Thursday morning (10am) in August with a group of friends. Upon arrival we were informed that there was an outing teeing off after us, this was not an issue since they were after us. I've played the course before so I was well aware of all the water hazards and sand traps on the course. One of my playing partners ended up in one of the traps on the first hole, upon entering the trap he noticed it felt more like concrete than sand. We hoped this was an issue with this particular trap but it stayed constant throughout the round. Being a former caddie I always rake my traps but on this particular day it was not needed since the were as hard as asphalt. The next issue we ran into was the refreshment cart or the lack there of a refreshment cart. At the turn we hoped to grab a bite to eat and some drinks at the outdoor patio/bar, to our surprise it was closed! When we asked the staff they said we would need to go into the restaurant to order food. One of us ran inside to order food and drinks and waited almost 5 minutes in the bar before he was attended to. I can only imagine how long it would have taken to get a sandwich! In order to keep our place of play my playing partner only grabbed a few drinks. You would think with an outing happening on a 75 degree day that it would be a good idea to have someone stationed at the outside patio/bar. After finishing the 13 hole we FINALLY found a refreshment cart, at this point we still had our drinks from the turn. The only positives for the day were the pace of play and consistency of the greens. I will most definitely not be playing this course again no matter the price.
Best in the area
Love that they are open for the season already and I can sneak in a few more rounds!! Course was in great condition, my swing was not…
Klein Creek always delivers
For early November, the course was in good condition. The blue and white tees were set together. There was a 5-some ahead, but they let us play through. We played in 3:20, which is an ideal pace.
length of most par 4's are difficult to manage. Par 5's are equally is difficulr. losts of sand and wster help this course with some dufficult holes. agreat Course over all though.
Played on a fantastic fall day. Course was in great shape. The greens were a lot faster than they looked which surprised our group.
Great day for golf!
Pro shop was welcoming and the course was in great shape, especially for October. Post golf food was really good, even brought home a pizza! Great job, I’ll be back!
Klein Creek is solid
I played in a league at Klein Creek years ago, the course conditions are always good. It is a well maintained course. Check in was easy, the starter was friendly.
$90 course is absurd
Pretty decent and tough course, but should never ever ever be $90. The conditions on a good number of holes and the price you pay don’t add up.
be wary with confirmed tee time
Be wary even if you have an email verified tee time. Showed up for tee time but were turned away as they had an event. Computer error in booking but they didn't bother to notify those with a confirmed tee time not to show up. No response as to compensating for lost time in going to course, not being able to play, etc.
Fun course
Very nicely kept, challenging layout, great scenery.
