Awesome 9 hole course
Great 9-hole when in a hurry. I was surprised by friendliness of staff...usually its grumpy old rangers but these guys were awesome! Course was in great condition even with heavy rain night before and toward end of play.
Great Vintage Course
We had a lot of fun, charming historic course. Will definitely play again. Straight fairways and Victorian postage stamp sized greens. Friendly and upbeat staff. Loved it!!
The oldest IL 9-hole muni course - great layout and challenge
This is my second round at Wing Park. I paired up with a father and son for a nice round. The course was quite playable, even after a a lot of rain in this area.
I like the course because it offers a great variety of hole lengths (116 yds to 517 yds), playing 2,778 from the whites and 3,131 from the blues. It’s a nice change of pace from the Executive 9-hole courses that are great for iron tuneup.
Looking to go “old school” for a quick round? Check out Wing Park.
Great course, but I hate the flags
I really liked the layout of the course, and the pace of play was good. So was the price. My only issue is all the flags are white, so I had no idea where the pin was on the green. There were two holes where the pin was back, but I didn't know it. Had I known, I would have hit a longer iron into the green.
A nice little course in Elgin
This course was pretty fun to play. The par 5's were pretty long. The course is pretty wide open and the holes are pretty tight to each other. I got there just in time as a the local high school was teeing off for a tournament. Fun course, greens were small. Course was in decent condition. Everybody was walking except for 1 guy who was in a cart. Took under 2 hours to finish the 9 hole course. Might be back if price is right.
Fun Course, Overpriced for condition
I used to go to Wing Park multiple times a week because the price used to be comparable to the course condition. There are way too many dead grass areas, dirt and divots to ask even $15/person on golfnow let alone the un-discounted price at the clubhouse. A fun course to play but not worth more than 13 per 9 holes in its current state.
Nice Course
The only reasons I did not give 5 stars is we felt a little rushed for a party of 4 and the cost of the carts were high. $9.00 per person.
Wing Park
My husband and I love playing Wing Park. It is a nice home course to play on if you are looking for a slightly challenging 9-hole.
graet for senior walking course
Pretty moderate and cozy course. A few hole were prtty challengeble specially senior on blue tee box. Nice walking course.
Great Value
Great 9 hole course for the money. Great to get some practice in for a cheap price and get done quickly.
Excellent fairways
Spatious Fairways, very little water if any. Easy to find mis hit balls. Fun to walk for the exercise.
Nice round of 9 before or after work
The golf course is great and I love having a quick round of 9 either before heading to work or on my way home after work. I don't mind getting paired with other players! The only downside of this "community" course is that at times they pack T-times one right after another, with little time in between. Cart riders should only be allowed if in groups of 3 (threesome) or 4 (foursome); twosomes and singles should be forced to walk. This last time I had 2 foursomes and 1 threesome ahead of me, once I caught up, things got slow; then another single "riding a cart" caught up behind me. Really? A single riding a cart when there are 2 foursomes, 1 threesome and a walking single ahead? Sometimes those things just don't make sense! Other than that, this course is a great community course and I'd recommend it to other people!
Boring
This course is a little boring. Conditions of the course could be a lot better as well.
Nice, fast course
Nice course to walk. Back to back 5's was fun. 116 yard par 3 more challenging than expected. Upkeep of grounds was above average. Extremely friendly staff. Pro shop was a bit bare with food/merchandise. Overall a nice place to play.
this course is good for all level of golfer
Every time i go play at this course staff is very nice. Wait time not long at all. Staff always fit me in even when im early or late. every time i play at this course it never the same, i like it.
This is good course
good place to be the people very nice no need to have a tee time to place
Great 9 hole course for the Money
Course was in nice shape for mid August and had some really long holes for a 9 hole course
SLOOOOOOOW Play
Stuck behind super-slow 4some; phoned course after 4 holes -
the group was almost 2 holes behind; staff did nothing to speed them up
Lacks yardage markers.
The course is nicely maintained but lacks the common courtesy of yardage stakes. There are the occasional sprinkler heads with yardages but no 200, 150 or 100 yard markers. Bring your range finder or make your best guess.
