Great course
Course was great. Staff was friendly Pace of play was great even with a jr tournament happening at the same time. Only thing bad to say is they need a beverage cart or vending machines or water coolers or something along those lines somewhere on the course during the round. Overall great time will definitely be back
Good layout.
Truly enjoy this course. Good layout and well maintained. Value is exceptional. Top off the round with a great selection of sandwiches. Staff is always nice.
Wide Open
Not a terribly tough course. Due to the dry weather this year the fairways are green and the greens soft but everything else brown and dying. Not their fault.
Recommended Course
Bordering on drying out. The alarm for leaving the cart path is a bit annoying at times. Sand traps need work, top layer is crusty and hard. Great brat at the turn.
good true greens
Course was in good condition. good greens , good and true cut to perfection. fairways were also in great shape
The course needs better supervision
The course played SLOW , the GPS is great but not sure the purpose of have the ON SCHEDULE feature is available if not policed. WE had a six man scramble all on one hole at the same time the entire back nine The price we paid was fair for the conditions, of the course, need sand in traps.
Slow!
I could not believe it Sunday. I was a single and none of the golfers were courteous enough to let me play through. On top of that, I found there was two 6somes in front of me on the course. I can understand during the week, but on a weekend day? What a joke!...Make sure you play here during the week!
The cups were really beat up and need replaced.
I enjoyed the links style course. The golf carts were fantastic.
It appears that to many people are being lazy and using their putter to take the ball out of the hole. This causes the edges of the hole to get all chewed up and makes it hard to roll into the cup. Perhaps their should be a marshal patrolling the course.
Great Deal on this course
I played Railside yesterday using golfnow to book my teetime. I live about 5 min away from the course and they had a tee time available in roughly 15 min. I through the clubs in my car and headed out.
Course is in really great shape. Carts have GPS which is pretty accurate on most of the carts. Railside plays very difficult when it is windy. With no wind, it is pretty easy to score.
This is one of the nicest courses in the area and is usually priced cheaper than the comparable courses in Bloomington or Champaign.
Basic golf, good price
The course is not going to wow you. It's pretty basic, wide open, and not very difficult. The greens are very slow and full of ball marks. Gibson City is also not terribly close to anything. Surprisingly, there were a lot of people playing, probably because it was a holiday. The price was right. I guess I can conditionally recommend the course, as long as you don't expect too much.
Short course, but strong winds makes it difficult. Good condition
Short course, but strong winds makes it difficult. Good condition, bit of a drive to the course though.
Nice layout.
It's in farming country so it's relatively flat and very playable from the forward tees which is nice for seniors and other short hitters.
Not bad at all, but a little boaring
Railside is ok, but not at all a course to be remembered. All the holes are similar. Play one hole and you have played them all.
