Decent Muni Course
Sunset Valley is a nice muni course. Not a lot of frills and is generally pretty short. That said it is still fun. Some narrow fairways and lots of trees. Drive it straight and you could really score here. Smaller greens. Great staff. Old gas carts though with no GPS.
Sunset Valley
Nice friendly course with a good variety of holes and in good condition. I would recommend this course to friends
Very nice course
Pretty well priced. Conditions are overall very good. Fringe on greens need work but main portion of greens are good. Fun course. Not very long. Pace of play not an issue. Professional staff.
Some choppy greens
Decent course.
Nothing special.
Friendly people. Overpriced!
My rec would be for a good price. That price being $32 weekdays and $40 weekends. Rack rate is $66. Too much.
I paid $45 on Sunday. Too much.
Value for money
Nice course, decent condition all a round barring a couple of greens. Staff very friendly
Greens in bad shape
The greens were pretty awful. The rest of the course was in decent shape.
Cute course
Nice round. Course in great condition. Friendly staff. Great value on line.
Fun and Challenging
Great course in good condition and easily worth the discounted price that I paid. There can be a lot of water on the course after a heavy rain so I would wait for a few dry days before playing. Also a good deal @ the undiscounted, weekday twilight walking rate. A little pricey on the weekend and probably crowded too.
Many of the best holes set up from different tees from the blue and white. Play from the blue tees if you can. From the blue tees the course pays long and with the lush bent fairways that may be damp it plays even longer. Expect to use your long irons and bring your A game if you want to score. This course is deceptively difficult and the deep bent rough is something to be avoided.
Sunset valley is an Audubon course so even though it's flat and a typical Midwest landscape it has it's moments of beauty and there are almost no houses adjacent to the fairways.
I played during the week so the course was not crowded. A cart came with the discount rate so it took about 3 hours. The locals here are great about letting singles through. Staff is friendly too.
This is a very solid golfers course that will not disappoint, Not much of a practice area and no range so if you want to hit balls you have to go up the street to the Highland Park public facility.
Solid course....
Good price on Golfnow. Great friendly staff. Greens are in rough shape right now due to winter, but playable. Fairways are in great condition. New food provider on property is a step up. (Michael's)
Great after the rain.
Springtime golf is always iffy. Wet conditions, aerated greens, spotty rough. All that was there today.Despite all that I can't wait to get back here later this year. It is a challenging but fair layout. I recommend this to mid and low handicaps!
For Dec. 4 golf the course was in great shape.
They took care of goose droppings on the greens!! The fairways were in good condition also.
Greens perfect, Good Test of Golf
Perfect greens (speed and challenging)
Good test of golf, you will use every club in your bag here.
Better than expected
I picked this course from the list of Golfnow specials available for the day. I was a single and thought I would be paired up. There was a foresome in front of me and a twosome behind me. The twosome wanted to keep it that way, which turned out to be fine because for the first fifteen holes or so I could barely keep up with the foresome and the twosome fell way back. The course layout is interesting with a variety of holes. I played from the back tees a little over 6,400 yards, but the course did not seem long. On most holes the back and middle tees are fairly close to each other. The greens and the sand were in good shape for a public course. I would definitely go back.
Good track, could be better
Layout was very nice, but the bunkers need some work. Good muni track, I prefer this over Highland Park CC which is the other course run by the park district.
Great value.
Challenging. Enough water and hazards yet fair for all handicaps. Not too long but difficult at times. Greens are in good shape and fairways fine for a public course. Pace was easy and staff was accessible if needed. There's now a net to warm up which was never the case before.
Great Course
I make it point to play this course whenever possible.
Well maintained with rangers discouraging slow play.
Very nice course and scenic.
Very nice course. not overly difficult, but has it's challenges. The only negative Are some of the people playing there. A twosome decided to walk up on the white tees as I was about to tee off from the back. They basically ignored me and tee'd off anyway. They were older men so I did not make a big deal of it. The same two decided to hit approach shots as the twosome in front of them were still on the green. Some people just don't get it I guess...
Greens were very very slow. Need to be cut
Course was in good shape. Greens were very very slow. Needed to be mowed. Play was a little slow. Price was great.
This course is nice and very convenient to the expressway.
Staff was very friendly, course was in good condition. Took my son, who's just starting out, didn't feel rushed at all.
