White Hawk Country Club - Red Hawk Nine
About
Located just an hour south of Chicago, White Hawk Country Club is northwest Indiana’s premiere golf destination. It’s ranked as one of the top 10 toughest golf courses in Indiana. The 36-hole golf course consists of four nines called Red Hawk, Grey Hawk, Black Hawk, and Silver Hawk, which are rotated daily to give players a unique round every day. The Red Hawk nine measures 3,515 yards from the back tees. It’s not the longest nine but there are still some holes that long hitters will enjoy. Strategically placed bunkers and water hazards also come into play. The golf course will reward thoughtful strategy but it’s not overly punishing for the high handicapper. In addition to the 36 holes, White Hawk C.C. also offers one of the area’s most extensive practice facilities, which includes a driving range with tightly bunkered target greens and a short game area with a sand bunker.

Wow
Was amazed at how well maintained the course is, black and silver were great.
Amazing Course
This is by far the best public course in NWI and believe me I’ve played them ALL. The greens were in immaculate condition and rolling perfectly. We did receive some rain over the past 2 days so don’t get much roll in the fairways. My only complaint would be the bunkers which were packed down to due the rain but they can’t control that. Very friendly staff and beautiful scenery throughout the 36 holes. This course is a Must Play
White Hawk has 4 nine hole courses
While this provides a nice variety of golf moving between each nine hole course can be quite a hike.
White Hawk’s Red & Grey Courses
I played White Hawk’s Red & Grey courses on 10/08/2020. Both nines were in excellent shape from tee to green. There are a variety of holes on both nines and the greens were quick and smooth. All staff was very courteous, from the time we showed up to the time we left. Last time I played here was over a year ago and I’m happy to say the conditions are still in excellent shape. A special shout out to starter Mike C. He was a great help to us from the time we got there to the time we teed off. I will be back.
Proud competitor
Challenges everywhere. Who doesn't like that ? Make sure your bunker play is sound
Great public course
I played it twice and both times it defeated me. I don’t mind because it’s a nice course and it only makes you better. Good luck
Must Play in NWI
By far one of the best courses in NWI. Silver Hawk is HARD and really tests the top golfers. Hole layouts are creative, course conditions were good, scenery was beautiful… not much to complain about, other than all the balls that were lost.
Im no Pro
Went to white Hawk play golf 18 holes we were put on Black and Silver course. They were too difficult to play for a non daily golfer. It wasn't fun playing . We should of been told at purchase or check in that the normal course Red,& white were not available.
I'm very disappointed in White Hawk as i have played there before -never on the Black and Silver! Ill Never again play White Hawk if they put us on the two hardest courses they have.
Very very disappointed .
Goofy layout
We played the red and silver 9 at white hawk. I loved the red 9. It was pretty much perfect. Good variety of holes. Nice par 3s. Fast greens. Thick rough all you’d want. Silver 9 was not great. It plays way too long from the white tees. There is a ton of forced carry off the tee and into the greens. Too much water on the course. I feel like the designer tried too hard on the silver 9 to make it borderline unplayable for the average golfer.
Other than that 9 I think the course is great. Staff is awesome. We had lots of fun
Always in great condition and worth the price!
I have played all 36 holes at White Hawk County Club over the past six years, and I have never been disappointed with the course conditions or the pin locations. White Hawk gives you the private course feel without the initiation fee, monthly dues, food and beverage minimums, or uptight people. If you are looking for a challenging 9 or 18 holes, play White Hawk; you won’t be disappointed.
Ok Option
Played the gray course first and some of the greens were beat up (lots of ball marks and footprints around the pin). Bunkers were hit or miss, some had a lot of powdery sand, some were harder and others were washed out.
Enjoyed the silver course for my second nine, definitely the better 9 and recommend you play it.
