Value good. Greens not in good shape
Great old school layout. Difficult. Traps and greens need work. Nice snack/drink options before/after & at the turn.
Great course for the value
Overall great experience for our foursome. The pace was a little slow and the course is narrow. You have to be straight on with your drives.
Last chance
It’s a shame this Donald Ross design is in it’s last season. What an incredible layout, and a treat to all skill levels. I found the back nine to more enjoyable, but an overall great track! play it while you can, it closes permanently next snowfall.
Play it whilst you can
Love this course, forgiving but challenging at the same time. If you ever want to play the “5 Sisters” courses you’ll need this one done before the development takes away this great course!
A great course open to the public
We were members when it was a private club. Compared to those days the tee boxes aren't cared for anymore, some of which were a little rough. The fairways and greens are nice, but I wish they still had a bar. Other than that it's a very nice course that I'll play again and again.
Complicated to find netxt hole
Course needs work,, rough too rough
Directions to next hole awful!
Not up to par
Course looks neglected this year. Has been very nice in the past. Maple seedlings everywhere, especially greens. Tee boxes poor. Traps horrible. Lost balls in rough as grass is way to tall. Probably be my last round there unless I hear they are going to maintain the course.
Good course that can be great again.
Chris in the pro shop was great to my friend and I. Big kudos for that. This course is very challenging and it’s tough for me to shoot a good number there. I usually only go when I’m playing well. It’s long with some nuisances which is cool. The course needs a little TLC which we all know but it’s still worth to me. One thing that I wish they improved on is maybe adding a few additional signs to help us get to the proper holes. I always figure it out but it’s not the a-typical layout as you advance through the course.
Not worth it
This place use to be a private course but they really let it go. The weeds were insane and the tee boxes were covered in dandelions.
Former PGA Assistant at Calumet
How the mighty have fallen. This course use to be a premier country club back when I worked there in the very early 2000’s. Even when the course went semi private the conditions were still pristine. Since they said that course was being sold they haven’t put in the money for course maintenance. The greens look as if there was a fungus in it, the rough has weeds and dandelions growing everywhere and there is grass and weeds growing in the bunkers. The fairways are in excellent condition though. What upset me the most was that a ranger asked us to pick up the pace in our play on the 9th hole. He said someone called the shop to say we were holding up the whole course. I can assure you we did not hold up anyone because I kept looking back at the group behind us and they never had to wait on any hole because of us. Granted we had to look for balls because of the poor rough conditions but we never held anyone up. We played in just under 2 hours on the front. The ranger then followed us for the next 2 holes as if he was timing us. The group in front of us had a 2 hole lead on us. We ended up catching them on the back nine and opened up a 2 hole cushion on the ones following us. We finished in 3:55 minutes. So I’m not sure why we were singled out. Disappointed in someone not knowing the facts and harassing us.
Fairways and greens are in good shape. The tee boxes need work. The ball washers were dry. Very few , if any, amenities.
Calumet Country Club
iT was a great experience but the greens need some water & help.
Nice course
I thought the course was in nice shape, except for sand traps, that’s the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. I’ ve played Calumet a number of times and considering the circumstances it’s in great shape overall.
