Sad to see Gleneagles go!
Played 9 plus a few holes on back nine. Understand we were the last threesome to tee off when Gleneagles was open to public. Ironworkers outing today and Employees tomorrow and that is a wrap for this 98 year old course.
Been playing here since high school in 70's. Warm memories. Red and White, you will be missed,

Always a great walk in the park
Been playing Gleneagles for years and it never disappoints. It's not an overly long course, but provides a lot of challenges. One of my favorites.
Fun course
We found Gleneagles to be a fun course, but I had a good front nine and my partner had a good back nine. I should leave early and he should come late!
would golf here again
Staff was friendly. Course has some character. Greens were slow and tough. Overall for price I thought the round was good value and would golf there again.
This is for the Red Course at Gleneagles.
I booked the White course at Gleneagles but did not play it. I had bought a super saver tee time with no cancellations. We got there early knowing that rain was predicted to start just after our tee time. We hoped to get off before the rain.
The staff was very understanding about that. Since no one was around to play in the rain anyway, they said we could play the Red Course immediately or wait until or tee time to play the White course. We elected to switch courses. I think they wanted us to as I never saw anyone playing the White course that day.
The course was in very good shape for the amount of rain we have experienced the last 4 weeks. It was becoming unplayable as we got to the 17 and 18 holes. Too much water is on the course and they probably should have closed instead of allowing the carts out. We did our best to not make tracks in the turf.
Hitting my last shots on the 18th fairway my feet were beginning to sink in the water on the course.
I give them high marks because I know if the course was still in this good of condition during these rain storms the last few days, I cant wait to play it in better weather conditions.
Keep up the good work Gleneagles. Just stop putting all your outings on the White course so we can have a chance to play it sometime.
Windy
Enjoyed it even though there was a 30mph wind the entire round. Shame to here they will be closing later this year, but I will take a lasting memory with me, holed one out on 16(white) from 80 yards out after a terrible tee shot!
Late in the sseasin
This was November, late in the season but still open everyday. They made no effort to remove any leaves even on the greens. At least it didn't seem like they did. I didn't see anyone the whole round. Of coarse this made it hard to find the ball. It slowed play for everyone. The round took over 5 hours. It was Sunday and expected to be a little slow. It just could of been better. It looked like they weren't at full staff. I still had a good round. I played there earlier this year and is a nice coarse.
Fantastic Course Conditions
Might be one of the best I've played on. Greens are tricky and very fast, well maintained and perfect for my 3 & 4 putts.
Not Worth
Not a course I would go to if you shoot 90 or below. Easy layout, friendly staff, in ok shape but a lot of hackers and no ranger to push things along
