Marengo Ridge Golf & Country Club
About
Marengo Ridge Golf Club opened as a nine-hole course in 1963. Spread across rolling, wooded hills, the course was crafted by re-purposing an old farm. The working cattle barn was even renovated to become the clubhouse. As the golf course garnered a local following, a new nine was added in 1990. The more than 25-year difference between when the two nines were constructed give the course a unique character. The layout seamlessly blends modern techniques and classic design. The distinct topographies of each nine add even more variety. Marengo Ridge Golf Club's original nine holes weave through mature trees while the newer holes are more open and links-style. There are several tricky doglegs throughout but it isn't overly punishing if you're errant. You'll also face several water hazards and strategically placed bunkers.

Will try to make it my new sat am course!! Also very good price especially for a week end thank you again for a great time!! See you next sat!!
Like Course but Slow Play
Really liked the course layout but was not happy with pace of play (5 hours with multiple groups stacked on tee boxes. Greens were extremely slow.
Sand traps
It's been 2 years since I played this course and I can't believe that 90% of the sand traps still look like a rock quarry. The huge rocks that are all over the place in the sand traps are unacceptable. I can't believe they can't sift the sand and get all of the rocks out of these sand traps after 2 years. If they would finally do what they should have done to these sand traps years ago this course would be a very nice course to play on from fairways, sand traps to greens.
Marengo Ridge
Course in good shape. Bunkers groomed, but not really sand, more like gravel, dirt
Marengo Ridge
Nice challenging course, Owners are gracious and hospitable.
Early Spring at Marengo Ridge
Great early season outing. Tee areas and fairways were good. Greens were still brown and rough. Janet always takes care of her golfers and serves up those good brats.

Great to be back out on the course
To start out the 2023 Chicagoland golf season our group traveled to an old standby Marengo Ridge. Shame on me but I hadn't played a round there since pre covid August of 2019. All of the staff are wonderful and want you to enjoy a great experience. This day was same......a tad windy/chilly but course was in decent shape except for the sand traps which always have been hit or miss. Marengo is a fun track after you've played it a few times. There are several holes where the area you have to shoehorn your ball into with tee shots is a tad over the top but that's part of the beauty of the course. Good solid clubhouse with bar, food and locker rooms downstairs. 3.5 stars plus. It's good to play here during the week or later afternoon on weekends as pace of play is usually an issue Sat/Sun. Recommend a play or three. Thanks to all at Marengo Ridge for another great golfing experience!
Hidden gem
Course looks great condition even winter now. Will play for green grass
This was a beautiful course with a good mix of sand and waterways. Very solid course. Pace of play was fine absolutely no rush. Definitely a great location to work on your game. Will definitely be coming back here!
Great first time at this course.
The only negative would be the bunkers. They definitely need to bring new sand in for the bunkers.
