Worst round of golf in my life
This was probably the worst experience I have ever had playing golf in the last 7 years and a whole lot of golf. We started off the first two holes smooth and then we got to the 3rd hole and all you know what broke loose. We had two foursomes in front of us, the guys in the front were some teenagers that were already hammered getting even more hammered and holding up the course way longer than usual. These guys were flipping the carts how crazy they were driving and trying to run over wildlife like deer and ducks that weren’t even on the actual course. Then the guys behind them were kids that were walking the course and that we ended up going in front of on the turn because they were taking a lunch break. So they ended up catching up to us and starting hitting balls right at us probably 5 feet away multiple times. Then on the last hole the teenagers that were drunk wanted to fight guys that were on the tee box and took their clubs and balls and were tossing them out of their cart. This was a horrible experience and worst part was the starter was called multiple times by multiple people and couldn’t do anything to both these groups. What a waste of money this round was.
Very Solid, especially for the money
I'm not a very experienced golfer but I'm not terrible either (about a 19 handicap) This course was pretty perfect for me. Tee boxes were mostly fine and the greens were a little inconsistent but also not too bad. Overall it's a good course and for around $40 it's a decent deal. Wish it had some sort of driving range somewhere but sometimes it's hard with the location.
Great time well Spent.
Although shorter than other courses, Chick Evans is a Cake Walk and should not be underestimated. Highly recommended and good luck!
Its Worth the Walk or Ride!
My round of golf at Chick Evans was decent and full of adventure even though my second time playing this course. There is always a surprise for each hole and for every shot whether going long from the tee-box or short on my approach...The front nine holes will challenge you and the back nine much forgiven. Give it a walk or a ride and you'd return again soon!
Pace of play matters
Course has always been average at best. It's a short course that's great for beginners but the pace of play is brutal. Waiting 20-30 minutes to tee off at each hole makes for a long day and makes golfing no longer enjoyable. They need a ranger and allow more time between groups otherwise pack a lunch and dinner.
Poor conditions
The course was aerated which I didn't know before I booked the round. The rough the tee boxes are in rough shape, the rough needs to be cut down some, and the greens need all the help they can get.
Chick Mehvans
This course is great to learn on! This staff is kind and there are awesome amenities, for a municipal course.
However, if you’re looking for something well kept and interesting probably not the place for you.
It’s just okaaay.
Sturdy Stalwart
Greens were punched when I played. No other complaints, this isn’t some well manicured resort course this is your standard issue public course with a lot of getable holes but tough enough to challenge your game. I really like the layout. One of my favorites.
Chick does the trick!
For early season practice Chick Evans is an excellent value. For me the convenience and cost made the round enjoyable and practical. I will go back for a repeat experience.
Great staff
The starter John was great. We talked a little before my round and at the end he remembered my name. Great guy. Give him a raise
Frost Delay?
Played a round of course and had a 10am tee time. Showed up and still had a frost delay. All tee times including 7am tee times were delayed. No email from course to at least give heads up of the delay. Tee times every 10 minutes so turned into a 5 1/2 hour 18 holes.
Cancelled
They cancelled my tee time as I was driving to to course.
They said it had been refunded but it wasn’t, so I not only drove most of the way there but paid to play as well.

Course operator here. Thank you for your valuable feedback. The course went through aerification mid-April, but due to late season frost, and this delayed the healing process on some of the greens. We've rolled and mown the greens since, and they are rolling true. Cosmetically you can still see the filled aerification holes, indeed. We appreciate your patience as the recent warmer weather will stimulate growth and improvement as we progress through the season. We hope to see you enjoy our course again.
