nearby and worth it only for a hot deal
it's a average course. Over priced, by a little. I think it's worth$38-$40 tops. course can get backed up in the morning. it's not uncommon for a four and a half hour round of golf.
Poor pace of play
I played the Traditional course, and after checking in, we proceeded to the first tee and began playing. After teeing off on the 3rd hole, a Marshall frantically approached and told us that the front nine was closed, and that we had to go to hole #10. We learned that they were having a league later in the day, and instead of closing the whole 18 like they usually do, they were trying something different having people tee off of 10 and then closing just 9 for part of the day. The problem was that the staff was not informing people of this, and there was a major back-up. In addition to this confusion, the pace of play was deplorable. Our original tee-time was just after 9am and we didn't finish until 3pm.
Fun day except for the grounds keepers.
Had a great day of Golf on a very nice course. Except for the chunks of grass left behind from the mowers. And when I was finishing my round I had to wait for the grounds keeper to finish mowing so I could play my next shot. It was very frustrating to be waiting on a grounds man to take my shot. It was almost a if I was inconvenienceing him. Other than that it was a wonderful course in very good condition!
Your teetime is not secure
I have no complaints about the course, but the staff had no qualms about not adhering to booked tee times. When I showed up on time, I found out the twosome I had been paired with showed up with 2 more players, and they gave them mine and another single's spot in the group. I was forced to wait until another time where there was less than 4 players booked, and teed off 20 minutes late as a result.
Nice, forgiving, fun to play course.
Loved playing this course. It's wide open, very forgiving, but still challenging and fun to play. Played it in April and the course was already in great shape. Plus, the staff and starter (Judy) are all very nice. The driving range to warm-up is a nice to have as well.
Highly recommend the course.
This course has 36 holes. Which the staff had me tee off the course that was less busy. I was not held up.
Based on all the rain we had in the Chicagoland area, the course was in good condition. The course was challenging because the ball wouldn't roll in the fairway, which called for longer iron shots to the green, but on the other hand, the greens held. So you can fire at the pin without fear. I plan on playing this course again in more dryer conditions, and hoping to improve on my 83.
excellent greens !
both courses ( Traditional and Prairie ) are an excellent value . .. . may not be the toughest but very fun layouts, not too many bunkers or trees, forgiving fairways and excellent greens
Fairways and Greens great
Everything was great from the pro shop to the course.
really good value for the$$$$
really good value for the $$$$ especially from the back tees
wide selection of tees & hole lengths for all hitters
course provides some interesting elevation changes. many holes are forgiving yet as always provide accurancy challenges for the skilled player
wonderful course
I always enjoy playing countryside Prairie. It is well maintained and challenging. And of course affordable.
