Springbrook Golf Course
About
Springbrook Golf Course sits next to Dragon Lake in Dupage County Forest Preserve, boasting some of the finest views of all the open space and trails Naperville has to offer. The course is a local favorite that is both challenging and playable. It's tougher and also considered more scenic that Naperville's other municipal course, Naperbrook. The rough can be a challenge to get out of and there are also strategically placed bunkers lurking along the undulating greens. It's a golf course that will test all aspects of your game but it's not overly difficult for high handicappers. Players of all skill levels can approach it with confidence. In addition to the golf course, Springbrook also has a practice facility that includes a natural turf range, two practice putting greens, and a short-game area with bunkers.

All Growed Up
I first played Springbrook back in 1981 when it had been opened a short time and its turned into a very nice course to play. It's challenging for the weekend warrior but not impossible where you can't get a decent score. I play bogey golf and the course fits that type of golfer. It has a couple of nice long Par 5's and reachable Par 3's to keep it fun. The greens were well manicured and rolled pretty true. The whole course has been kept up great. Only thing is I'd like to see Naperville bring the price down to $45 to play here. All Summer it's been around $65 which is a little much in my opinion.

Better than average
The course was nice but, many dog leg left's. I am a slicer so that was harder. The Pin placements were a bit off. They use a chart and it did not match up on all the holes. Now that I have played once, I would try it again. Food was basic nothing special. The rough was a bit long and thick. Made it a little harder as well.

Second look
Played previously with my father, and when i returned i knew the setup and the layups. Some tricky holes, but the greens are the biggest asset. Course was in great shape.
We're glad you enjoyed the course Mike! Come back to see us again soon.
A solid, suburban course at a fair value
Challenging course that is well kept. Look for special rates to secure a good deal. Will definitely play here again!

Nice, well conditioned course
I really playing Springbrook. The course is in great shape; both the fairways and greens are hard and fast. The facilities are nice too, with a full service Clubhouse, Driving range and putting greens.

Friday slows
If you are looking for a 5 hour round on Friday afternoon this is your place! Too many old people trying to walk 18 holes. It's not a hard course to walk but with all the walkers it's hard to keep a good pace. Most groups had 2 walkers and 2 riders not good for any hope of a 4 1/4 hour round.
Busy Thursday
Found a great price on Golfnow for this course. Had to take it. I played as a single, it was extremely busy this day for Springbrook so they paired me up with three other gentlemen. Great guys, the course was packed but played right on pace for four hours. The weather was amazing. Green were true and held balls well. No complaints will play this course again.
We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the course. Come back and play again soon!

Not what you would expect for a Par 3/4 Course
Going into playing here and getting a deal for a Saturday AM for $30 with a cart I figured this would be a good place to go practice my iron game. It turned out I got to use almost all of my clubs in my bag. The greens were in pretty good shape, minus a un-repaired ball mark here and there. They rolled pretty well. I honestly thought when I made my reservation the course was going to be a very boring course because of the price but it turned out to be a rather nice place to play a round and at the same time build some confidence. Not a super challenging course but there are some holes were 2 really nice shots are needed to hit a GIR. I would play here again, and very may well do so. The Fairways are defined...but the grass is longer than a top notch course but it was not hard to tell if you were in the Fairway or the Rough...The rough was not very long....
Thanks for the review. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed that course!
A surprising gem
Very pleased. I go around to a lot of courses. Springbrook was surprisingly very nice. Good condition, fast greens that role true, with nice elevations and trees around. Overall very nice and surprising gem.
Thanks for the great review and we are very happy to hear that you enjoyed the course.
Nice track fair play for a 5 handicap
I am a retired golf course superintendent. I have 30 plus years in this field. This is a well maintained. Very fair and interesting design of the course. Greens are above average. Mature trees. Strategically positioned water. I enjoyed my day a great deal. I would have given it a 5 star, but I have played Augusta, Pebble Beach, Pinehurst, and the Blue Monster.
We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed the course. Thanks for the review!
Don't waste your money
Booked this on Golfnow as we wanted to play last minute and it was hard to book a tee time, we should have taken this as a sign. I live right down the street from this course and I usually will play Phillips Park or Tamarack as they are better priced and a better course. Our team time was for 10:38 for two and we did not tee off until 10 after 11. they booked two foursomes that were riding and walking another 4some riding all within 2 minutes from each other. After we waited pretty much 30 min after our tee time being on our early 30's they paired us with 2 men who although were very nice were in their late 60's. so this meant them playing from the women's tees and taking frequent bathroom breaks and having to hit 3 shots to hit the ball 60 yds. On top of all these issues the most frustrating was the condition of the course, could not tell the difference between the rough and the fairway same length of grass. They were also cutting the grass while we were out there and since it was so long all the grass clipping in the middle of the fairway were a pain to get a clear shot as well as many spot of dirt in the fairways and rough spots. After enduring all of this for 9 holes we stopped to get a hot dog and noticed it was now almost 2:30 after this we went back to the clubhouse to ask for a raincheck for 9 holes since their pace of play is 4 hours and 28 minuted and this is basically what it was for the front 9, they finally gave in after we pled our case and gave a voucher for discount on our next round which I will give away since I have no plans to head back here. overall poor experience other courses in the area are much better all the way around no where near worth the money they charge.

Slow pace of play
I play this course about 20 times a year and every time I play we wait 10-15 minutes on every hole, rangers do not speed up play, hackers do not let faster players play through, I always go back expecting normally pace of play...NO DICE!
We are sorry to hear about this Jim. Please send me an email to discuss possible solutions.

Enjoyable Round
Enjoyable layout. No complaint other than outrageously high prices for April golf. Greens still aerated and fairway grass not fully back. It may be Spring, so says the calender but cmon the play was still challenging. The weather was nice, altho very windy, but this is Illinois folks and 2day just 2 days later its cold rainy and snow in the forecast. Prices at this time of year should be based on condition of the course.
