About
Foss Park Golf Course has a convenient location in North Chicago that is an easy drive in from the city. It's a public course that is known amongst locals for being one of the area's best golf values. The layout is wide-open save for three holes that are framed by towering mature trees. The golf course strikes a good balance between being challenging and playable. The fairways are narrow and demand accuracy but the massive greens are more forgiving. Each hole offers a variety of different playing options, which makes the course appealing to a wide range of skill levels. The golf course has plenty of sand, plus water hazards come into play on several holes. There is also a driving range and large practice putting green available at Foss Park G.C.

Friendly staff
Starter and shop guys were friendly. Pace of play was decent. Had some people walking and I was playing by myself so that’s understandable. Great course for the price.
Shaping up nicely this year
Fairways are well manicured for this early in the year., no puddles or wet spots. Greens are large and not very fast. Course is getting better each year. Great cours for the amateur and great early year pricing. Looking good!

Continuing problems
Foss Park GC NEVER has enough carts to go around! Even though I pre-pay for use of an electric cart, when I arrive at the course, there ALWAYS is a shortage of carts and I have to wait (often missing my tee time) for someone to finish playing and turn his/her cart in so I can use it. This has happened to me 3 times -- and twice I had to walk !! NOT GOOD ...

Blustery day
Nice course. Fairways are narrow and many are densely tree lined. Straight off the tee is a must. If you get into the trees, take your medicine. Staying in the fairway gives ample scoring opportunities. Large receptive greens which rolled true

Slow play… with no carts
45 minute wait for carts mid-day…. Cart shortage but still take tee times knowing they cant service everyone… that’s frustrating

Overpriced. Slow play. Carts are garbage. Conditions are average at best and not consistent.

There is no ranger telling people to hurry up. People in front were Taking like 25 min per hole.

Slow play
It took me 2.8 hours to play 9 holes with a cart. Sloooow play and payed for 18 holes what a waste of time and money.
