Fairly good round of golf for the price
Oak Brook is a decent setup considering lack of land. A lot of water on the front to make up for it. It is usually in pretty good shape but is very overpriced. If you can get it for $40 or less it is worth it otherwise look elsewhere.
Too much money for the course
There used to be a sr discount on weekends. Now no discount. By the time I got two tokens to hit range balls the price was $103.00. For a short park district course this is ridiculous. It’s a nice layout with good greens, but in no way worth $100.
The New Oak Brook
My group has been playing Oak almost ever Friday morning for at least 10 years and have always enjoyed it. The staff is great and we enjoy the course. Oak Brook changed management since last year increased non-resident prices significantly. Cart/greens fee increased from $72 to $87 and a pitcher of beer from $18 to $24. It would be nice if they offered senior discount on Fridays.
Golf with an Eclipse
Although it was CPO because of the weekend rain, rightfully so, since there were some soggy spots. Beautiful sunny day with an eclipse thrown in.
Great early season condition
Course was in great condition for this early in the season. With the rain we had recently a few spots were really soft, almost swampy. A couple tee boxes were closed but that did not detract from the course at all. Bunker sand was more coarse than I expected but not terrible.
I’ll definitely be playing this track again. A lot of water but fairly placed, the layout was fantastic with some great dog legs. Greens were quick and approach shot placement is a must. Undulations and slope of the greens are tough but fun.
The cost has skyrocketed from last year and the policy was changed such that Friday is apparently now considered the weekend. That was very disappointing to hear. I have always played on Fridays with a foursome, but will likely now start playing elsewhere.
November Oakbrook golf
Course was in ok condition for time of year. Major issue was leaves all over course. Not a good job picking them up. The 18th hole green you could hardly see the green.
They should do a better job in fall collecting leaves.
Overall give them a pass normally good course to play.
The water is everywhere!!!!
Enjoyed our day @ Oakbrook. It would be great if carts had course layouts displayed or distance markers @ 200' & 150'. Being my first time I relied on my garmin watch to navigate course & for determining club selection & distance. Challenging in a good way; I'll definitely put it on my calendar for next season.
Good value municipal course
Super fast greens with many challenging undulations and tough pin locations make this course more difficult than you would think based on slope rating. Overall, requires use of most clubs in the bag with several different doglegs. worth a play
Oakbrook golf club
I like playing Oakbrook golf club as it’s close drive. Well designed course and reasonably priced. On this day the overall course was in good condition although the rough was longer than normal. This made a challenge to find balls. The greens were in good shape and fast. The wait times were a bit longer than normal primarily due to the weather which was colder and wet from the previous day. Same reason for longer rough which was a challenge to hit out of. Overall very good challenging course just enough water and traps. I would recommend
