November Oakbrook golf
Course was in ok condition for time of year. Major issue was leaves all over course. Not a good job picking them up. The 18th hole green you could hardly see the green.
They should do a better job in fall collecting leaves.
Overall give them a pass normally good course to play.
The water is everywhere!!!!
Enjoyed our day @ Oakbrook. It would be great if carts had course layouts displayed or distance markers @ 200' & 150'. Being my first time I relied on my garmin watch to navigate course & for determining club selection & distance. Challenging in a good way; I'll definitely put it on my calendar for next season.
Good value municipal course
Super fast greens with many challenging undulations and tough pin locations make this course more difficult than you would think based on slope rating. Overall, requires use of most clubs in the bag with several different doglegs. worth a play
Oakbrook golf club
I like playing Oakbrook golf club as it’s close drive. Well designed course and reasonably priced. On this day the overall course was in good condition although the rough was longer than normal. This made a challenge to find balls. The greens were in good shape and fast. The wait times were a bit longer than normal primarily due to the weather which was colder and wet from the previous day. Same reason for longer rough which was a challenge to hit out of. Overall very good challenging course just enough water and traps. I would recommend
Course was in very good condition and the sand traps were actually sand and not packed down with hard pan below the surface like many courses.
Pace of play on a Sunday was excellent
Pin positions on a few holes were ridiculously difficult considering how fast they were rolling. On those holes, the slopes they were on resulted in no way to stop the ball anywhere near the hole without actually hitting it in !
Some distractions near the course with adjacent kids soccer games and screaming parents, and a polo match/classic car show with loud PA system
quirky layout
course is easy to get to but you can tell someone tried to fit 18 holes into a city block. so many quirky holes with doglegs and such. if you like hitting irons off tee boxes and not bombing drives then it’s ok
Very good value
Great senior rate. The course is wide open for higher index players, plus challenging for better players to score low on. The greens are very challenging. It is walkable. Food and drinks good, cart servers are not pushy. Nice clubhouse and great patio.
Slow Pace of Play
Round took 5+ hours due to groups in front of us. No ranger to be seen the entire afternoon.
