Love this course !
Always love playing here ! I like the fact you have to drive a distance to the next hole. It is just a great setting with large trees. Don't forget to play Heaven 11 it puts you way up there for a very picturesque hole ! Hope the weather holds out so I can go back again this year !
Nice course with interesting holes. Mostly wooded and pretty. Greens and fairways and tees good. Some other areas marginal. NOTE: it is not a USGA member course if you track your handicap.
Walk in the park
Nice day, nice pace, nice course, good friends. It doesn’t get any better!
Course was pretty good shape. Crabgrass is some areas. Greens were consistent. I just putted poorly today.
Course is in great condition with the exception of a few spots of hard pan in the fairways. Greens all in great shape. Pace of play when we made the turn was at a snails pace since a group of 4 wouldn’t let people play through and 4 twosomes were stacked up behind them. Still finished in 3:45, but did the front 9 in 1:30.
Higher Rating Except for Bunkers
Silver Ridge is in great shape! i would have given a higher rating, but the bunkers are brutal. Looks like a clay/dirt/sand mix. Very little sand. This seems to be the case with a lot of Northern Illinois courses.
Although this was our first time playing a course where we weren’t a member and using our own cart, we felt relatively safe. We weren’t near any other guests. They were sanitizing the carts. We enjoyed our round and will return again. Course was in great shape.
Silver Ridge is one of our favorite courses in Northwest Illinois. 18 fun and challenging holes wind through a beautiful natural setting including hills and creeks accented with charming wooden bridges. Not our home course but we try to play there 2 to 3 times a year
I have played here several times over the years, never disappoints! Good layout, friendly staff
We play this course at least 10 times a year. It is a beautiful setting, surrounded by trees, subdivision on only a few hole and it is at a distance. Lots of challenging holes with woods in play on about 6 holes. The only downside is the sand traps which all need a good load of sand. The greens are not fast but in good condition. Take a few balls you're not too fond of. Lots of wildlife and great fall colors.
Great people, well kept
We went to this course for a golf outing. The manager was very accommodating and everything was ready for us when we got there. He even came around and checked with us when we were golfing to make sure everything was going well. The course is somewhat challenging for this area and a beginner like me. All in all a great experience!
I like it
Nice track. Sand traps need work. Nice shape. Greens a little slow but not bad. You need to know where you are going and hit your target.
