Excellent first time experience!
First time at Fox Bend, and the golf carts were extremely nice and the course layout was awesome for any level of users due to the various tee locations. Course was well manicured, cart path was well maintained and the bathrooms were clean! Shot my first birdie here and will plan to be back!
Going diwnhill
I haven’t played Fox band in several years and I feel the course is going downhill. The course itself was in good shape although like most courses people need to fix ball marks on the greens. Fairways were in great shape, but I miss the pond off of 16. Now that area is a mosquito breeder area and it looks terrible. Staff was nice but no starter, hook up with whoever
We stopped for a beer afterwards. The waitress could care less, the restrooms were filthy. Definitely not the experience I have had in the past. I’ll play it again and hope things improve.
Slow round.
The course was in decent shape with the exception of the bunkers. Very little sand. Highly compacted dirt sand combo. No water coolers on the course on a very hot day. Pace of place was pretty slow also. Waited on several holes. They allowed a fivesome in front of us. Not sure if I'd go back. Plenty of other options out there.
Great public course
Great public course. I look forward to playing this course a lot in the future. Had a great afternoon round. Course was in excellent shape and the greens were very quick. Great layout. They had three greens that were reconstructed and look like they will be awesome come next summer. Temporary greens were fine. Understand that’s the only option when you are constructing new greens. Can’t wait to go play again!
Fall golf
Great golf course during the fall time. The colors of the trees made for great scenery. There were a couple greens being redone, but didn’t hinder the experience. Made it through 14 holes before the rain hit; would have liked to finish the round.
More alerts PLEASE
I am a big fan of this course, and the staff is always on point and courteous. Having said that, I played this course about two months ago and there were THREE makeshift greens to contend with. I played last week these greens were still substituted for the real, under construction greens. We didn't receive a warning about that two months ago and we didn't receive a warning last week. It would be nice if the course, or the golf website, could alert us to these types of conditions. A heads up on courses aerating greens would also be nice, especially if the course chooses to use the thicker needles.
temp greens
Everything was fine except I saw the cart lady only once for 18 holes and the temp greens were way to small.
3 temporary greens until spring 2023
Their currently are 3 temporary greens until the 3 are rebuilt and reopened next spring....otherwise in excellent shape.
Good value on a nice course.
Nice course. 4 of the greens were under reconstruction so they had temporary Greens.
Improving
The course is in great shape and they are making efforts to improve the course by rebuilding three greens now.
Fox Bend is nice layout
We enjoyed a fun day at this nice course in Oswego IL. The staff was very friendly and the layout was competitive but enjoyable. Pace of play was okay but no water or ball washers on the course. Greens we’re on the fast side. We will play it again.
Temporary Greens Non-disclosure
Temporary greens in place but not disclose until I check in. This should be disclose so golfers can decide if they want to play with temporary greens. Honesty is best policy.
