Newman golf course
Very enjoyable round. Course was not busy. Course is in very good shape. Course is longer than most.
Well worth the money!
Newman is a traditional golf course that challenges the average golfer.
Newman Value
The greens are in great shape, the best in the area at this time of year. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Looking forward to the next round here!
Rude and unprofessional
After golfing for 19 years in 14 different states and 3 different countries I have never felt unwanted at a golf course until I arrived at Newman. Our T time was scheduled for 4:26 and the last member of our party arrived in the club house at 4:05. While checking my party in we were immediately scrutinized about our level of play and pace of play. Being told that since I did not look like a professional golfer that there was no way we would finish our 18 holes of golf before the 7 o’clock dead line. Which is where my main complain lies. After reaching the first T at 4:15 PM we sat and waited for the High school team to play one single hole in front of us. The team was allowed to play one hole and one hole only and he just happened to be number 1. Our T time was delayed by 14 minutes and to top it all off We were kicked off the golf course at 6:50 PM with over 45 minutes of safe daylight left.
This experience has solidified my choice of no longer supporting Peoria Park district courses. This is not the first time I have felt disrespected and belittled by a PPD course but this will be the last time.
Great Fall Condition
The course was in great fall condition. The leaves were not an issue - they had been mowed and chopped up. The rest of the course - greens, tees, and fairways - were very good. Very nice fall golf! And the staff is first rate!
Newman at it's Best
This is the best I've seen Newman. The tees were the best they have ever been. The rough was the best I have ever seen it. The fairways were excellent. For having been aerified on Monday, the greens were very playable. The trees were trimmed up so you could hit punch shots underneath them. I would seriously consider making Newman my home course again. Greens superintendent Marty O'Brien and his crew deserve a round of applause. Congratulations on a terrific job.

Decent course
Haven't played this course in a while. Seems like they have done some landscaping and made it look better. It was nicer than what I remember. Conditions are pretty good, just a little dry and hard.
