Great layout
Best public course in Peoria outside Weaver Ridge. Early in the year so some fairways are splotchy and greens are not holding but they will soon enough. Check it out!
Great Coarse for a good challenge.
Great day for ⛳. Sunny breezy. Wind gust up to 15 mph. 76' F. Great day. Coarse conditions were very good. Greens and fairways were well maintained. Shot a pretty good round that day. DILLY DILLY.
Early year round
The course was in great shape for this early in the year. The head pro, Dustin Martin was very helpful. I would recommend this course to anyone.
Suggestion
Golf etiquette was at a loss during my foursome's round at Newman. I can appreciate golfers new to the game. Regardless of the SKILL level one takes to the course, understanding AND FOLLOWING golf etiquette is as important as any part of the game. Enough said.
Great course, great pace of play
The course is easy to get to park and follow. The pace of play is great. The all beef hotdogs are pretty good and condiments are fresh. I was frustrated that some of the tee areas were hard to stick a tee in the ground.
This course has great features
Excellent course with mature old course features and fun to play
nice course
Courses was in good condition. Sand was in great shape. Perfect for boogie golfers as most par 4s are easy to reach in two.
Fun Course
Newman is a fun course to play especially if you can find a hot deal. The course has an open layout but smaller greens. Tee boxes are maintained and watered. The bunkers could use a little work and there are some tee shots which are made difficult because of over hanging branches. The food is reasonably priced and there are free refills on fountain drinks so hold onto your cups!
Improved condition
Recent renovation has resulted in improved condition of this course. Decent layout, scenic back nine and good value for the money.
Nicely revamped
Newman is a nice find for Peoria. Back nine especially attractive. Course is in great shape with revamped tee boxes for ladies and seniors this year. More friendly. Greens were very firm and fast this time. Recommend as a good value.
Course upgrades are a good improvement
Good layout, good improvements to enhance the course
Newman under repair
Because of repair and rain condition in poor shape
Ground under repair
So many area's on the front 9 especially that are under repair due to the renovations and work to improve drainage that it was difficult at times to find an area you could play from. Sometimes that area was behind trees. Also, there is still a lot of water standing around for all the work that has been done. Bunkers are better (have sand now).
Poor conditions
Cant believe they charge full price for half a course in sub par shape.. its peoria park district, so what do you expect.
Review
The back 9 is very tough! The front nine you can't play yet but they doing a great job on it. Back nine is in great condition!
