Nice Course
This course is a fair challenge for the average golfer. Very nice shape. Great value for the "hot price" deal.
Good Course for the Money
I play this course A LOT, league and recreational play. It was in as good a shape as it's been in years. Some players need to learn to repair their ball marks on the greens, but generally in great shape. Nice fairways. New carts were great. Tee boxes could stand to be leveled, and softened so you don't have to drive a tee into the ground!
Kellogg
Course is great staff is excellent the only disappointment is the starting tee times. When we set the clock back in the fall
Peoria golf set the time forward we had a hour and half of sun before we could tee off
Making tee times as a member online is a disappointment when you pull up the time it gives two tee time
If someone try’s to get on a second later it will not give the second time goes to the third time and blocks out the fourth time. Needs to be one time showing
Perfect greens
Course is n fantastic shape. Greens are big n fast but putt true. Fairways are perfect.
Need new, FRIENDLY staff
I wasn’t going to do something like this or even call the Park District and make a big deal about it but... I received an email asking me to leave a review on here. So Kellogg, if you’re asking for it, here you go!
Kellogg is a nice course. It’s the best of the three Peoria Park District golf courses. Well kept for a public course. Great location in Peoria. Really happy with the fact that they have an executive 9 holes to play. Carts are okay but an upgrade would be nice. Clubhouse is nothing special - if the clubhouse were updated/upgraded then this would be a great move.
While most of what I just listed are good qualities, there is one con that outweighs every single one of the pros for me. This single con is the terrible customer service provided at Kellogg. Now, this terrible customer service is not from anyone of younger age, but solely from the employees that seem to be around age 50 and older. I typically golf with guys in their late 20’s/early 30’s, and these employees (50 and older or so) are very rude every single time we go to Kellogg.
Here’s some examples. They’re never welcoming or make any conversation when you come in, and always act is if you’re some kind of hassle for them to golf at the course they just simply work at. One of them even laughed at my buddy when he said he wanted to golf the regular course and not the exec 9. Really? We’ve golfed here many times and you’re going to laugh at him as if he’s not good enough when, in reality, all of us are above average or better. Another time, one of the ole’ grouches came out and literally yelled at us from a distance on the 18th hole, WHILE WE WERE PUTTING, to “HURRY UP” when they didn’t even close for another 30-40 minutes - forget customer service here... have you ever heard of golf etiquette?
These are just a few examples of why the older staff at Kellogg ruined this place for me. Myself and a few fellow golfers were going to buy the PPD annual pass which is a $2,000 purchase, but these unhappy characters have lost our business - we will happily go spend more at a local country club or more elite golf courses than spend our money here. They must of forgot who’s tax-paying dollars fund their course, and I won’t give them any more.
This seems to be targeted at the younger crowd, and not the older good ole’ boys. Makes sense. Don’t they want to invest in the younger golfers that patronize their course and keep them coming back for years to come?
I assume this is a retirement job for a number of these angry employees, but why are they so rude to the point of ruining a day of golf for some people? I mean, working at a golf course to spend some of your retired time at seems pretty great to me. You’d think they’d be happy? I guess not.
Like I said, I wasn’t going to do this but Kellogg sent me an email asking for a review on here so I can them one!
Great track
Great fairways n greens. Greens r true n most very big n undulating. Some water lots of traps just a great course
Great Muni
Kellogg is one of the better municipal courses that I have ever played. Although it is not as challenging as Newman, it is no cake walk and is a more enjoyable walk in the park in my opinion. While it isn’t a PGA tour length course, it is a bona fide big boy track that is enjoyable for low and high handicappers alike. It’s also a very walkable course which can be somewhat rare for courses over 6500 yards. The course is in great condition this summer, which is somewhat surprising considering the increased volume due to Covid and Kellogg’s reputation of being hit or miss in the past few years. My favorite PPD course.
P.S. The Exec 9 is about as enjoyable of a short course as you will find in the area. It really is not THAT short, as I would equate it to playing 9 holes at Madison distance wise. Some nice elevation changes and fairly wide open. Good for an emergency nine or quick twilight round after work.
Prestige course. Kept well in all regards.
Kellog is a wonderful course with plenty of open fairways, tight doglegs and unique par three holes to challenge the golfer.
Terrific
Terrific Course. Scenic, interesting and challenging enough for low handicap, but shorter tees work for average golfers. Beautiful conditions. About as good as it gets on a public golf course.
Kellogg
Course is in great shape even with the hot days we’ve had the past couple weeks. Greens and fairways are fantastic.
