Course Closed due to inclement weather?
It didn’t rain all day yet all of the Peoria Park District courses were closed due to “inclement weather”. My group went and played Parkview instead.
Hi, thank you for taking the time to review the course. We take single star feedback very serious at our course. You are welcome to comment further or reach out to our team in the golf shop. we are sorry for any confusion or miscommunication. We always appreciate the feedback.
Lots of Fun
This was our first time playing this course, visiting Peoria for business. The staff was great, very nice and helpful. The course was in great shape, including the rough, fairway and greens. It's obvious that there's a lot of attention to detail.
One suggestion - I had to ask where the tee box was for Hole #10, it was across a fairway to a distant area. Perhaps a big sign either at the 9th green or at the clubhouse would be helpful. Maybe it's there and I didn't see it, very possible....
Thanks for a great experience that was fun, enjoyable, and a good time. I will come back when I'm in the Peoria area. I highly recommend this course!!
Fun course tough holes easy holes greens n great shape
the holes on all the greens were mounded again,,they dont use the tool bar for changing the hole locations, makes greens less than average..where are the supertendents to check this
Madison is in the condition expected of the money the park district is devoting to it's upkeep. Several greens are showing signs of distress. Although there are several lengthy par fours on the front 9, Madison is a good place for beginners - with generous fairways and no trouble. It's an easy walk for those who don't care to use a cart. Staff couldn't be any friendlier.
This course is very mature but well maintained. A lot of beginners come to this course so expect delays. We followed a foursome, waiting every shot, from hole 2 until they let us through on 7. Under normal circumstances an average golfer can complete the round in 3-1/2 hours easily. No tricks, no blinds, no up & downs or undulations. Pretty straight forward layout with generous fairways and average size greens. Good value with GolfNow.
Madison is in good shape in comparison to the past. It's a good track for beginning golfers with the entire back 9 being reachable. I rarely play Madison primarily because so many area residents walk across the course with no regard for golfers or the signs telling them to stay off the course if not playing golf. The last time I played there children were even using the bunker on 17 as a sandbox.
