False advertising
I booked a tee time for this course and was excited because they just finished the back nine. Well we got to the course and they told us only the front nine is open and we had to play it twice. Playing the front nine twice was not worth the price we had paid for the round. The back nine had people teeing off on it the entire time so we were very disappointed. We were also told those were friends of friends so thats how it is.
The pace of play was at a crawl It would have been a six hour round if we didn't say something to the cart girl on the back nine. Ohh i mean the second time playing the front nine.
The food was good cart girl was great. But staff whom worked their obviously could give no care about the golfer.
We actually were just speaking about how golf courses have lost all customer service skills on our way to this course. Its okay that we were treated as such. Not everyone has their A game every day. We will choose to bring our business elsewhere.
PJ
Only reason I gave the course condition 4 star's is because it's been raining consistently and it was super soggy and truthfully out of their control.
Good course, however ...
Front nine closed for the season! Pace was slow because everyone is on the back nine. I would play there again as long as all 18 holes are open.
stunned
Half the course has been sold to a car dealer , had to play same holes twice . Should have been advertised in advance
Not happy with finding out about front 9!
Front 9 under construction so had to play back 9 twice!! Not very happy with that!!
Under construction, but worth it
Played on a Sunday afternoon, finished 18 in 3.5 hours, do the pace was awesome, they are doing some construction on a few holes and it’s a little rough, but overall the course is in great shape and it made for a really fun afternoon.
way too long of a round
A FEW MINUTES UNDER 5 HOURS IS NOT MY IDEA OF GOLF....I TOLD 2 STAFF MEMBERS AND ALL THEY SAID WAS THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO....WONT BE BACK THERE ANYTIME SOON. AS FAR AS BOOKING, I HAD A 10 DOLLAR CREDIT AND THE SITE WOULDNT LET ME USE IT, I TRIED TO CALL BUT YOUR OFFICE WAS CLOSED.
First off the course was in decent shape. The greens were firm but rolled true. The sand traps seemed to need more sand a bit shallow in places. We have played here every time we come through this area. The cart gal was very attentive which was nice when playing midweek.
Solid course in good condition but unremarkable
A pretty solid course in good condition overall, especially the greens. A very pleasant place to play, even if unremarkable. Generally pretty flat, except for a few holes.
Park District
Park District course with greens and fairways in pretty good shape. The rest of the course is suffering from the extremely dry weather we've had this late summer. Overall, it is what it is. Would never pay the full prices they want to charge, but I'll take it for a hot deal or the early bird special for $29.
Good Muni
One of the better park district courses in the Chicago area, holding up well with the dry weather. Just remember, everything breaks toward the river.
Fairways good, greens generally same although were rough around the hole with recent heavy play. Rough was basically dormant and hard as a rock - beware shots rolling into hazards that would ordinarily be held up.
Chucks review
Course was in excellent shape and overall it was a great experience. We played there about four years ago and the greens had problems, now they are in very good shape.
Wedgewood Golf Now
Got a great bargain on golfnow.com. Worth every penny. Nice layout with lots of trees. sets of tees for every skill level and separate tees for women.
Would recommend it for players of any ability.
Great course at a good price
Played here after someone mentioned it to me last time playing. Got a hot deal in the morning. Didn't have to wait on any holes. Finished in under three hours. Grass was in great shape and the bunkers had actual sand. Greens rolled true. They have four sets of tees. Only thing to improve the round would be gps on the carts and cart paths throughout the course. As a first time player here, I would definitely come back and play in the afternoon so as to not have to deal with the morning dew.
