University Park Golf Club
About
University Park Golf Club (formerly known as University Golf Club & Conference Center) boasts one of the most popular championship courses in the Chicagoland area. The golf course has been a local favorite since it first opened in 1962. The original design by Lawrence Packard received an update in 2004 by Greg Martin, but the classic character of the layout still remains. The course wanders across gentle rolling terrain, providing elevated tees and undulating fairways. Water hazards come into play on half the holes, including on the 17th, University Park Golf Club's signature hole. This intimidating par 3 requires a tough carry over water to an elevated green. Miss it and you'll be faced with the nearly impossible task of getting up and down. The difficulty doesn't let up with the final hole, an uphill dogleg par 4 with a sloped, elevated green and water on the right.

Decent Course
I had hoped for more from a Larry Packard course based on others I have played However greens were much flatter and lacking of his typical character than others I have played. Course conditions were OK , tee boxes were beat up and greens were longer than expected. Cost to walk was a great price.
Good time
Great weather, good course conditions and friendly staff, especially the starter Dave
Very Improved over past couple years
Course was in excellent condition in 2023. I hadn't golfed here in the past three years as the previous course conditions were terrible as grass was uncut in areas due to equipment breakdowns. It was hard to find balls due to high grass. In 2023 it looks like a new course. Fairways were cut beautifully. Greens were smooth and true for putting. Even the clubhouse was greatly improved inside with vases on tables and flowers. The bathrooms were like new as well, very clean, towels in baskets. Congratulations on all the improved maintenance on the course and upbgrades in the clubhouse. I shall return happily.
The course is great
The course is well kept and very clean. I recommend this course.
Great value
Biggest bang for your buck in the south suburbs. Nice layout, fairways are in good shape, tee boxes could be cut a little better, but other than that it’s a great course, play there frequently and will continue. Good job bringing this course back!!!
Surprise value
This was my first time playing here and I was pleasantly surprised. Good layout, friendly staff and the course was in very good conditions considering the lack of rain we have been hav6. The greens were a little shaggy and slow but in good condition. I'll be back often.
Grasses not cut
Fairway grass too long. Grass at greens too long. Grass at tees too long. Sand traps very good.
JD
Course in pretty good shape but greens need to be rolled. A lil bumpy!!
