Great course
We’re from Arizona and used to perfectly manicured courses. We selected this course because of a Hot deal and really didn’t expect much. We were blown away by how well this course is maintained. Greens were 10-11 stemp and in perfect condition. Course was beautiful and challenging. Would love to play it again some day.
An old grand course
Have loved Atwood since it opened.. It is a great design and fun track to play
It is in fantastic shape
Course is great, staff not so much.
Course in great shape. Fun to play. I am of the opinion the course staff does not care much for Golf Now golfers after a couple times here. We got there 30 minutes early and instead of sending us out early they sold the open tee time in front of us to a single? Pace was slow because no ranger to keep a slow three some ahead of us at a decent pace. Winnebago courses need repeat customers, but done act like it.
Enjoyable.
We enjoyed the course which was in good condition after all of the rain. Moo
Team fun
Great day, decent price and ready for the season. FAirly open with only a few water holes. Will be back
Fun easy course for all levels
Atwood is very tranquil and peaceful course. Almost all of the holes are secluded and has alot of nature. Course is easier for the more advanced player but also has a handful of challenging holes. Staff is great and very courteous and friendly.
Are those bunkers ever going to be fixed???
One of the clubhouse attendants is not the friendliest, the rest are good. The bunkers are absolutely horrendous, it is the biggest down fall of this course. Greens are slow but it is what it is, even mid season not just early in the year. There are tons of rocks in the bunkers, if they just picked 10 a day out while racking them in the morning it would help over time. Even rake and place can be an issue.
Great course to play
Atwood is a long and challenging course. You have chances to see Turkey and deer during your round.
Very friendly staff
The greens are in great shape but some of the bunkers look more like rock quarry’s instead of sand traps. The best part of my round was dealing with Sandy J. who works in the clubhouse. Every time I’ve been there Sandy greets me with a smile. He is a fantastic example of great customer service.
always a great time here
Staff is always friendly and welcoming. Ranger promptly took care of getting us thru a slow foursome who had no clue they were holding up two twosomes and a single behind them. Course is always well kept. Nice player-friendly layout.
Wide fairways
Room to roam on their treelined fairways.
Rough "grabby."
Course plays longer. Not much bounce...roll.
Played 3hrs. Solo. Tuesday-12:30.
Nice greens.
Bunkers gravelly.
Nice natural scenery
Atwood is a well maintained course pretty easy open fairways. Only negative is sand traps need to have new sand put in them more like rock traps. Overall this course is fun to play (grip and rip) and has alot of turkeys on it and I don't mean people! :)
Boulders and weeds in the bunkers
We love Atwood s layout and interesting holes. We HATE how lousy the Forest Preserve is maintaining the beautiful course. I was lucky enough to avoid the sand until hole 17. This bunker is on the right side of green. My ball was laying amongst several large rocks and some weeds where I needed to stand. We play the ball down so when I swung my club smashed into a large rock and the ball richocheted off 3 rocks and into the tall grass behind the green. Result was a damaged club and a lost ball. Sad. This isn’t the only bad trap on the course.
poor placement
course was in good shape, but where they had some of the pin placements you would think pro's were there,
Always pleasant.
Beautiful natural setting. Undulating greens can be difficult. Accommodating staff. Our twosome picked up another Golfnow user. We have been extremely lucky in being paired up with other Golfnow users. Not a jerk in all our groups.
