Ledges Golf Club

Great course and friendly people. It plays 6300 from the whites and challenges even great golfers. Some really cool holes.

The layout was great. The course was in great shape.

One of the toughest courses in Northern Illinois/Southern Wisconsin. Great wooded layout.

Lots of rain and snow in the last 10 days made for some muddy spots, but overall the course is in good shape. The greens were in very good shape. Low lying areas will dry out.

It’s a awesome course, but I got confused in hole 5 and 8, hole 5 it’s next to 13 and you can see it so went to this one but a worker was close by and very helpful to direct to the next hole. But I most definitely will play here again.

Love this course and the layout along with great natural setting and staff is very friendly. This course needs work though and cutting down the brush and trees is not helping. Needs alot of bunker repairs and more care of the fairways and greens. I'm tired of the county putting all the money in Atwood and Macktown when this course is way better than both of them. I know there's been alot of rain this year but this happens every year with Ledges being put last on the list.

Only real knocks I had. Short driving range. Long rough. Greens thick. (Hardly any break)

For a municipal course the fairways and greens are usually in great shape when it doesn't get too much water. The layout is nice and it a picturesque course with elevation changes and the price is unbeatable. There also aren't too many gimmicky holes. They've recently started cutting some trees to improve areas that don't get enough sun.

With that being said it could be a lot better.
1. Bring back Wild Rhubarb, current food choices are terrrible.
2. Pace of play must be enforced.
3. If the county has a gem this is it. This is probably the 3rd nicest public course in the area and it could be 2nd if you made it a destination for food and people to gather. You've got a pool and an area for people.to congregate. Have some sort of programming in the evening and make it a community destination.

I'm an intermediate golfer I shoot between 45 and 52, on a 9 hole. The fairways were awesome when i got to play them lol. Greens very receptive and holes had some challenges to them. All in all great day beuteaful course.

Great course and excellent value. Now that have played it will have a better understanding of where to and where not to hit. Only problem was the two groups in front of us. Extremely slow. 5 hour 15 minutes for 18 holes is brutal. The ranger did make several attempts to move them along, but....not sure why they could not comply, or let us play through. Held up the whole course. On July 7, 2018 the 11:44 and 11:52 tee timers if you are reading this please learn to play at pace. Was grueling waiting on virtually every shot.
Another gripe and I have this at most courses I play, is FIXIN THE BALL MARKS ON THE GREEN. It's not that hard folks. Bend over and fix your mark. Respect the course and others that are playing that course.

Ledges is just flat out a beautiful course. It was in great shape even after taking all that rain like 10 days prior. Joined 2 other guys from Rockford that had pretty good games and we were really lucky no one was on the back after our front nine finished. Greens were rolling so nice for being so soft. Course overall was in great shape..

I’ve played this course several times over the past year. It’s a great layout and the staff is great.

This is a very nice course in a pretty setting. The layout is quite challenging for the less accomplished golfer and reasonable for the accomplished. Scoring well requires wise club selection as simply blowing out the driver will not work in some instances. The greens were fast and true. Both 9s finish with longer uphill par 4s - #9 and #18. The par 3s were reasonably short. The second hole is an interesting par 5 to a tight approach. The clubhouse staff were accommodating. We would play here again.

Love the course. Lots of challenges. Fun course to play for all.
