Golf Advisor: Top Courses in Indiana
Nice Course / Great Pro Shop
The course is really nice and well maintained. Only draw back was it has really been played because greens are rough shape with unrepaired divots and spike marks.
Noble Hawk is a fun play with links style on the front 9 and a more woodsy back 9.
Nice course in Northeast Indiana
Nice layout with lots of heather to avoid as is a links course. Course is in good shape with a phenomenal price. Pace of play in a morning was great, may lengthen as day progresses.
This course is gorgeous and a joy to play. I come back every year to give it another shot!
This is a great course to play. Fun and challenging layout with enough movement on the greens to make you stop and think. No two holes feel alike and every tee box presents it's own unique challenge. The design forces you to second guess pulling the driver but will reward a long, accurate drive with great scoring opportunities.
This is a great course to play, and with the Golf Now prices, it was a fantastic bargain!
Challenging but fair
I really enjoy playing this course. As an average level golfer I find it presents several challenges that encourage good shot placement while still being fair to golfers who aren't single digit handicap. The course is always in nice condition with a nice variety of hole layouts.
Noble Hawk is a rather unique layout, with rolling hills and tricky greens. Most of the greens have multiple tiers or sections, so you have to pay attention to the pin placement since if you miss in the wrong place you're looking at a tough putt. I found the greens to be rather narrow at times too. The course layout is a good mix of position and blast away holes. But it is a course you'll have to play several times to know where to go and where to miss with confidence. If you're a little off your game you'll pay a lot here. Conditions were pretty good, though some of the greens were a little patchy in spots, especially on the back 9 in the trees. It's well worth the drive to play, even the 2:30 or so from the Indy area.
This course is in very good condition and I would recommend it to my friends with one caveat: beware, they openly allow fivesomes to play. I would like to go back but I'm not sure I will because of this. I can sometimes see courses allowing five golfers at 3 or 4 pm when they're not busy, but I teed off at 7:45 am. I rated pace off play "fair" which brought my overall rating down to only "average," otherwise i would have given it a much higher score.
First Time Play - Won't be the last
First time playing. The course is full of interesting holes, contoured greens, beautiful heather, and pretty scenery. Holes are all fair. The course is right in front of you. But executing the shots is the challenge. The greens - undulating, they break, they have some speed, and they roll beautifully.
Being it was a 92 degree day, I was grateful for the free bottled water that was provided on the course.
Will definitely play the course again when in the area
Always a fun challenge.
Course was in great condition considering all the rain recently. A few of the bunkers had some water still or were brick hard, usually not an issue but on this round my ball found them way too often.
Course was busy, again probably because it was the first good day for golf in weeks, but there wasn't too much of a wait because the starter does such a great job keeping people spaced.
Will continue to play this course whenever I'm in the area.
Best course within a 50 mile radius
This is my favorite course. I have played at a few of the "Finest" but they don't compare to Noble Hawk. Tim, Rick and staff are very cooperative with everything you need. The course is very competitive, but it rewards good shots.
We had a great time. Had a private scramble and the course was in great shape. Thanks for the hospitality
