Great course
Great staff. Nice layout. Good variety of holes. Front 9 and Back 9 totally different. Nice finishing holes on both 9 & 18. Staff very nice and always accommodating. Rick is the best takes care or our group every year. Always look forward to seeing Rick at the golf shows in the early part of the year. Then we know it won’t be long before we’re back at NobleHawk.
Poor
Started with the guy in the clubhouse being as unfriendly as could be. No directions to practice green or range. We were just told to be ready because he might page us early. Rushed us to the first tee without explaining how to get there. Was turned off immediately. Played 5 holes then hit a huge backup with 4 groups on hole 6. Was so irritated we left after nine without saying a word. Would not go back. Much better options for the money where they will appreciate you being there and not act like it should be the other way around.
There was a golf outing just before we played and the greens were we beat up and not in the best shape. Cart paths have alot of pot holes, Course needs some TLC.
Good Track in Noble County
I've played Noble Hawk probably half a dozen times. I always enjoy the layout - and if you get lucky enough to play it when it's windy, then it's really a great golf experience. I was impressed that the course is still in good shape considering all the play it has gotten this year. The greens were a little slower than they have been traditionally, but still rolled true. The fairways had some spots where they were beat up with divots, but again, they've had a lot of play.
Pace of Play can be an issue out there, but if you go later in the day, I've had better luck. I've never seen a beverage cart go around, but they do have some available at the clubhouse.
In terms of the course, it is a good setup with two different 9's. Front 9 is a pretty open, links style course. The Par 4 7th is probably the best hole on the front in terms of strategy. It's a good risk-reward par 4. Smart play is to hit an iron or hybrid to the right of the water and short of the bunker. However, it is driveable if the wind is favorable. The back 9 is more tight, with many of the holes going thru the woods. There's also 3 par 5's on the back as opposed to just one on the front. 13 and 18 are two really difficult par 5's. 13 requires 3 really good shots, and 18 has two water hazards, but is reachable in two with two good shots. It's a great finishing hole. 14 is another precision par 4. In theory you can go for the green, but the smart play is to hit an iron or hybrid to just in front of the creek. 15 is a daunting peninsula par 3 over water.
This is definitely worth the play if you're in the area, and I make the drive of about an hour to play it 2-3 times a year. Lower handicappers should play the course from the tips - it's really fun!
great golf experence
we play here every week and have been for a long time. great course, staff and they treat you better than family! it is always a great experience.
Great Course!
Noble Hawk is one of, if not the best course in the area. It’s kept in perfect condition, run by a great group of people and the practice areas are great as well. Highly recommended!
Noble Hawk Is One Of Our Favorites
We play Noble Hawk at least once a year. It is a little over an hour drive from home. We had 16 players and used 2 for 1 coupons. The course was in excellent condition and the staff has always treated us well.
Great layout
Course was in great shape. Greens are fast and awesome as well as the fairways. Staff was amazing. All around great experience.
Nice
Very fun! Course in very good condition. However, no employees were wearing masks that worked in the clubhouse and there were no dividers in the carts like other golf courses are implementing so that people can ride together safely. Not sure if carts were being sanitized.
Really great track not far from Ft. Wayne
Great course in great shape! Took advantage of good weather in late October to try it out - not disappointed! Make the trip to Kendallville you will enjoy the challenge!
Noble Hawk is Fun Course
First time playing this course, and had an awesome time with a random Father/Son I got paired up with. Next time playing this course, we'd leave the Driver in the bag on a few holes, but what an awesome layout. The front9 is links with a lot of water; the back9 much tighter cut out of trees. The multi-teared greens is what makes this course, and a couple (maybe even 3) different clubs depending on pin-position. Don't forget to bring your GPS gun! Greens were nice, but our group fixed many more ball marks than we produced. I guess my only complaint would be the sand bunkers were mostly dirt, but you shouldn't hit in there anyway. Next time I'm in this area, I'd like to play again, especially at the Hot Deal special.
First time but not the last
Two in our threesome had never golfed here until today, and are anxious to return.. Tremendous layout and huge greens. Can’t wait to get back.
