Recommending but this track is not for me
Midlane is in decent shape. Greens were rolling nicely and some good fairways. Traps are complete hit and more miss...and need new sand. Some tee boxes pretty chewed up tough to find a level area especially on the par 3's. Nice practice area grass range. With Golfvisions taking over the management shower/locker room is no longer available. Carts are no longer allowed in the parking lot. Average beverage prices and there was a nurse out on the course. NO WATER on course so provision up on hot days. The carts do have removable coolers to take into the bar which is a nice touch. No GPS so bring a garmin or laser...250/200/150/100 usually marked by stones in the fairway...that's it.
Midlane has water to carry and fend with all over the place - the landing areas are generally fair but after a while it just gets old. Thought I was playing the same par 4 over and over again. All three of the par 5's have water/sand to go over on your 3rd shot. All 4 of the Par 3's are pretty much the same distance. Traps front greens or are well positioned fronting part. Greens have some slope but none of them got me overly excited in regards their creativity. Areas with flood damage from last season which other reviewers noted. Lots of geese and droppings in several areas mainly on the front nine.
From the whites 6159/132 it's plenty of challenge. A number of tee shots play slightly uphill with less roll out - Midlane reminded me of Florida courses with no alligators - almost flat as a pancake. While it's a "pretty" routing it will become a mosquito haven swamp later this season.
We had a Memorial day weekend 11am Sat tee time and the place was virtually empty. We got around in 4 hours. Now I know why....it's a once a year course at best....downgrading well over a star because of the sameness challenge of every hole. You could probably play this place with 6 or 7 clubs. Thinking about it that's about all I used.
Cart issues all the time
I reserved tee time thru Golfnow, and the Cart was included. But when I went to the course, they said it’s walking only. They always have issues with cart.
The tee boxes
The tee boxes could of been in better shape but over all a great corset and ether goose ppop was all over
Jeff
Course had no scorecards ouch
Front nine had a couple of holes that were rough from rains of several weeks ago.
Back nine was in great shape.
Greens were fast and true
Overall pretty good
Great possibilities
Beautiful fairways on most holes. Had a little problem with flooding on the 6 th hole. Played around it. Nice challenges for any level with sand and water. This place could be excellent with some TLC.
Pretty course
Fairways are beautiful although the 6 th hole was flooded and slowed play down alittle. There are challenges for all levels with sand and water. I really enjoyed this course and look forward to playing there again .
2nd time playing
Played in Early July and again late August. First visit was great but the conditions have worsened, some minor flooding and high ponds but the bunkers are just about unplayable and some are so weed infested they reallly arent bunkers. Make sure to move the rocks away in some.
Its a great layout with awesome greens and so much potential but without some TLC I cant see coming back anytime soon.
Needs help
1 I think I was the only person that fixed a ball mark all day.
2 they have a serous drainage problem..
3 piece of clay, very slow
Too much water
This course was not in great shape to start with. To make things worse, there was water everywhere. It has not rained hard in a while, so this makes no sense. Overall, course was not worth the value. Would not recommend. The only reason we booked was because it was available within short notice, but I can tell why it was now.
Shawn was a great host at the course. Will be back very soon
Great layout and value for the money!
First time playing this course and was pleasantly surprised. Great mix of dogleg lefts, rights and straightish holes. All the par 3's were fun, and they have a couple par 4's that offer risk & reward if you go for the green from the blue tee box. Greens were in good shape, and rolled really well, but like most courses, there are idiots who refuse to fix their pitch marks (grrrrr). Pace of play was great, played on Thursday in 2 1/2 hours...Now for the bad. The Bunkers, they are horrendous, didnt look like they had been worked in years. Most had rocks in them, and the rest had grass growing in them. Had the Bunkers even been remotely playable I would have given this place 5 stars overall. Sad part is, I seen guys out working the course, but zero focus on the bunkers!?!?. This course would be gorgeous if the Bunkers were maintained in playable condition. Even with the Bunkers being horrible, I'd still play it again if I can get a deal via Golfnow again!
Downhill
I live out of state but have played Midlane for several decades. It is definitely going down hill. The sand bunkers were awful. The greens had many , many unfixed ball marks. We were held up by a fivesome two groups up and a foursome who couldn’t keep up with the fivesome in front of us. I heard they may be going through an ownership change ????
It's a review of a different course. I made a mistake. I tried to delete the review, but I couldn't
