Very good, a few rough patches
Generally a nice round on a beautiful beginning of Fall day. It was windy but warm. Nice to get a round in before the leaves cover my ball in the fairway.
Yes, there were some bare spots on the tee boxes, fairways, and greens. But nothing horrible considering the environment.
Happily will be back again.
Let it fly... but you’ll probably get thirsty
Wide landing areas so bombs away! It’s late in the season so I can see why they would want to save some of the tee boxes, but c’mon - they were all shredded. Some of the greens will need until next season to heal from I don’t know what, but they rolled pretty true - super slow, but true. Great layout and fair for all level of golfer.
Pro tip: bring your own drinks or load up before and in-between 9’s. Cart service is nonexistent as in there is supposed to be one out there, but you’ll never see it.
Solid layout
First round at Midlane and overall good experience. The layout is very challenging and in okay shape, hence only 4 stars. Driver saw very little use due tight fairways and good fairway rolls. I can see why the course held some qualifiers for the USGA. I'd play again for the rate and better course then most munis/park districts.
Good day with 3-new friends
Interesting course layout that demands attention and planning to get a decent score. I would definitely plan this course again.
Fairways and tee boxes pretty beaten up.. could use maintenance upkeep
Bring lots of balls
This is a good course, it is in need of some -box work, but overall it is a good course. The drainage is a bit iffy on some holes, but overall a winner.
A bit shaggy but still worth it
I’ve played at Midlane for years. I used to consider it more of a hidden gem when conditions there were really awesome 6–8 years back. The maintenance could definitely use a boost as most tee boxes are a bit shaggy, done fairways spots are burnt out, and several greens are rough. That said, for $37 w/cart on an early morning, there’s no better place. Quiet nature within the housing development, friendly staff, and honestly a really fun, challenging layout. I’ve never had a bad experience. Yes, it needs better upkeep. Yes everything is super outdated. But the golf is still really rewarding. The homes are the downside but it’s really a retirement community so that’s expected. Dynamic design that makes you think keeps me coming back to clear my mind there. Give it a try and don’t expect a fancy country club and you’ll appreciate it.
