St. Andrews Golf & Country Club - Joe Jemsek Course
About
There are two championship golf courses available at St. Andrews Golf & Country Club in West Chicago as well as a top-ranked practice center. The Joe Jemsek Course, formerly known as the Lakewood, was added in 1929, three years after the club opened. Unlike the original St. Andrews Course, the Joe Jemsek Course has a hillier terrain. Although it is shorter than the other golf course at 6,770 yards, the elevation changes make it seem similar in length to the 6,920-yard St. Andrews Course. The course features tree-lined fairways and strategically placed bunkers, offering plenty of challenges but overall it is not an overly intimidating layout for beginners. There are several long and demanding par 3s throughout. The best example being the tricky second hole, which has a green that is guarded by two deep bunkers and towering trees.

Like playing this course the 17and 18 holes still kicks my back end Grass off fair ways Needs to Mow and sprayed for weeds I usually don’t lose Balls I lost 4balls just hitting little off fair way I understand you have to make a little more challenging however it’s kind of long Cart Rental is almost one of highest I seen in Chicago Area I enjoy the course the Front Course is my better choice
Always solid!
Can't beat this facility for the money. It's well designed and the course conditions are just fine. The staff is SUPER friendly. Easily the best public practice facilities in the Fox Valley area.
Good condition, but long round.
Course #2 was in pretty good shape, but it was negated by the 5 hour round. Unfortunate. Staff was extremely friendly and the amenities/bar/grill are a perfect place for the 19th hole.
Course in Great Shape
The Joe Jemseck course was in great shape. The greens were fast, the tee boxes in good shape and the fairways were immaculate. Only complaint is GPS wasn't working in our first cart and we had to switch carts.
So slow
Teed off 12 minutes late and then waited on every tee box on back when finished saw ranger sitting at tee having a break
When was on course he didn’t say a word
Brutal
Great Hot Deal
Very Windy in mid-40s, but with covered carts and a course in great shape, who can ask for mor in Chicago in March.
Great for February golf, greens are challenging and fast but fun, par 3 put your accuracy to the test, couple tough par 4’s but a few gettable one’s as well. Overall 7.2-10
