St. Andrews Golf & Country Club - St. Andrews Course
About
Opened in 1926, in the "Classical ERA" of U.S. course development, St. Andrews Golf & Country Club has been recognized as the oldest family owned-operated golf course in Illinois.
St. Andrews Golf & Country Club was originally built in 1926 as a rival to the Chicago Golf Club. Since then, the club has built its own reputation and stands out for its two championship golf courses and top-ranked practice center. The St. Andrews Course is the club's original layout before the Joe Jemsek Course was added in 1929. It is also the longer of the two golf courses. The club and course draw their name from the famous Scottish club known as the "home of golf," but the course is far from being a seaside links. Instead, the mostly flat layout weaves through mature trees. The golf course offers a challenge with tight, tree-lined doglegs and large, contoured greens framed with sand bunkers. It has a memorable finish with a par 4 that features a water hazard along the entire right side of the fairway.

Saint Andrews never disappoints
Course was in very good condition, staff was very friendly. The pace of play was a bit slow as there were several twosomes ahead of us, and instead of having them combined into foursomes, they left them separated, which back things up a bit. We literally dropped our last putt on 18 as the sky opened up and poured down rain.
Pace of play
We went to golf and were behind 2 foursomes that were walking. I know it’s a part of the game but it makes it really hard to get into a groove when you are waiting 10 min at every hole to tee off.
No one around
Great day Teed off at 11:15 and didn't run into anyone on the course. Finished in3.5 hours
Great Day
Pace of play was great. Threesome only waited a little bit. Played course in 3:40. Course was in good shape. And paying only $24 walking is an excellent value.
Sure bet
ST Andrews can always be counted on to deliver a great golfing experience. Challenging but fair layout on BOTH courses. Courses are ALWAYS in excellent condition. Greens, fairways and rough are always in great condition. Even the bunkers, which MOST Midwestern courses struggle to make & keep truly playable, are in good shape, allowing you to attempt (& occasionally execute. LOL!) ACTUAL bunker shots. Beverage carts are routinely available. Marshal is usually around attending to pace of play too. The 19th hole is truly enjoyable. All in all, I GLADLY drive past other courses in favor of St Andrew's & will continue to do so.
Incredibly slow pace of play
Anytime I go to this course, we are always waiting for at least 2 groups infront of us. They always have tee times available and I think that’s part of the problem. If you want to play 9 holes in just under 3 hours, this is your course
We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with the wait time at our course. We appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration to improve our services. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Great Shape
Despite the drought, the course was in terrific shape. The fairways, greens and tee boxes were watered well. One of the better maintained courses in the area.
Incredible value
Only catch is you have to pay for a cart seperately, but it's a great deal for a good course.
Nice golf course.
Impressive golf course. I’m a very amateur player, and I struggled on the greens at this course, but it was a pretty and visually appealing course.

Best Value in the Burbs
Both courses at St. Andrew's are in good condition. the #1 Course, St Andrews is a slightly easier track with slight undulation and fairly open holes. Some nice bunkering makes a few greens a bit harder to attack but overall a fun course to take on. Highly recommend playing either #1 or #2 here, the cost can't be beat in the chicago suburbs.
Hello. We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. We would love to know how we can earn those last two stars next time! Thanks for playing St. Andrews Golf & Country Club - St. Andrews Course.
Overall a nice facility
First the positives. The facility is top notch. Great practice facilities, club house and restaurant. Employees are friendly. Overall shape of course is pretty good. Negatives. Tee boxes are beat up and pace of play is slow. Rangers try to move things along but the course gets way overbooked. Tee boxes most likely reflect the overbooking.
We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced during your golf outing. We understand that waiting for a long time at each hole can disrupt your rhythm and enjoyment of the game. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we appreciate your review.
