About
Chevy Chase Country Club (formerly known as Traditions at Chevy Chase Country Club) in Wheeling is one of Chicagoland's top public golf facilities. Thomas Bendelow designed the golf course in 1925. The classic layout remained largely the same until 2002 when a major renovation updated the course and made it more challenging. The layout now has deep pot bunkers lined with tall native fescue that border the generous, rolling greens and undulating fairways. Though it is more challenging than it was, the golf course still offers a player-friendly round. Four sets of tees also ensure that golfers can play to their skill level. The course finishes with its signature hole, a par 5 that features water both left and right of the landing area off the tee. Three massive bunkers and yet another pond all fiercely guard the green as well.

Good course but rough needs to be cut shorter
I’ve played this course for years but haven’t played in a couple of years. They don’t cut the rough short enough. I know it was just cut because I asked. If your ball lands in the rough, you may not find it even if it’s just off of the fairway. Otherwise, the course is in great shape & if you stay in the fairways, you’re good!

Great course minus the bunkers
Love the course however the bunkers haven’t been maintained or raked all year. Please this is a very important part of the game experience. Please improve the bunkers!

Good golf course
Great variety of holes in great condition. Played in 4:05 with a late morning tee time.

Course was great!
The course was in fantastic shape! The only issue was, there was no food options until after 930am. I had a 7am tee time, and at the turn there was no food options as the chef did not come in until 930am. Otherwise this course was great and I would recommend it.

Fair course for my ability. Need to move red tees back a bit. 600 yard difference between red and back. Need a 6200-6300 option.
