Fox Prairie Golf Course
About
Fox Prairie Golf Course, formerly known as Angus Links, sprawls across more than 160 acres of rolling farmland and mature forests. The undulating terrain is a far cry from the mostly flat courses you'll find in central Illinois. It's also one of only a few public courses in the state that boast zoysia fairways. As the new name implies, the course doubles as a home to several fox families. You can often find them along the tree-lined banks of the creek that wanders through the course, which comes into play on 10 holes. Fox Prairie Golf Course starts off gently with an open front nine but gets tighter and more challenging as you move onto the back nine. Five sets of tees allow golfers of any skill level to play to their abilities.

Members are friendly!
I mean, this course has it all if you can find it! It's a great find for us. We are from C-U and travel in a 60 mile radius to courses. This course reminded us of some of our favorites such as: Urbana Country Club, Turtle Run in Danville, and challenged us & rolling fairways like The Den at Fox Creek in Bloomington.
Members are very welcoming and will play around you rather than make you feel nervous and out of place.
Grab a "hot deal" tee time and enjoy your round!
Enjoyable!
The staff & other golfers were very friendly. The course was in very good condition; the green were fast & the majority were in excellent condition. It was pretty warm out there but the wind definitely helped! We played a threesome in under four hours. We'll definitely go back.
Great rural course
This might be a challenge to find without a GPS, but it's very nice. Each hole has it's own challenges and the scenery along the way is great. Course is very well maintained and well designed. The facilities aren't fancy, but are in great condition. The cook is good with the few items available.
A gem
This course is worth the 25 minute drive from I-70. Nestled in farmland the quality of the course has to be seen. The staff was awesome and if you go get the ribeye sandwich from the snack bar. You won't be disappointed.
Zoysia fairways and large greens
This is a very nice course and a good value. It is one of the very few public courses in the area with zoysia fairways which are nearly perfect even for this time of the year. The layout is challenging with the front nine pretty open and the back a bit tighter. I would recommend this course to any level of player as five sets of tees allow for a variety of yard ages.
