Beautiful course
I am a person new to golf, I found this course to be challenging yet forgiving. It is a beautiful course. When you go into the rough it is thick plush grass. The greens were a little tough to read and judge speed. The bunker has sand like you find in a sandbox. Over all I really enjoyed myself and I can't wait to play again.
Outing issue
I was a little disappointed to notice an outing teeing up right before our tee time. I spoke to started to express my concern. The outing had two groups on every hole 1-11. They said we could start on 14 and should not have a problem. It wound up working out OK.
Good Course for the Money
I got a Hot Deal and the greens fees were only $16. The course was in pretty good condition, with the exception of some bad areas on some greens. I can understand that as it's still early in our golf season, but don't put the pin in the middle of a bad area. There were several greens where the pin was placed in the worst area of the green. Also, I thought that I was going to lose a filling on the cart paths as they were rutted and bumpy. You have to constantly weave around pot holes and "speed bumps." Enough of the negative.
The course was fun and a good challenge for a 12-15 handicapper. Some tougher holes than I remembered from the past. The 15th and 18th holes were especially tough unless you hit the fairway with your drive. Good course and friendly staff.
20 handicap golfer
first time playing was paired with younger guys who lived in area and play course.had a great time would play again when in area
The end is near
Being near the end of the season, management must be cutting back on the maintenance staff. None of the ball washers were to be found and several of the bunkers weren't raked. More frustrating was that a couple of the greens were full of leaves! I understand that it is tough to maintain a course at this time of the year, but at least get the staff out there and keep the greens clear. Other than the above, the course was in pretty good shape.
Bonus Autumn Round
Took advantage of great weather this morning. Couldn't find any friends to play with so I signed up as a single so as not to waste a great forecasted day of weather in the Chicagoland area. I was paired up with two (2) other singles who were also very mindful, respectful of the course and the game, THANKFULLY. Kudos to the staff, starter who got us off right on time so as to avoid the Scramble outing that was also going off a little later in the morning. We only waited a short while on Hole #10 and after that, great round all around. While there are tougher courses out there, Village Greens played tough enough today. Easily accessible, ample parking always and challenging enough with the water in play from the BLUEs. Come play if you can.
run down
played here many years ago, decided to catch an afternoon day of golf here. I was very disappointed by the course, poor course and green conditions with geese feces even on the greens. Bunkers were wet with standing water, greens were in bad shape. would definitely not recommend paying full price for this course.
Nothing Special
The pace of play was rediculous and didn't see any staff addressing the issue. In today's golf world and using Golf Now like I did for this course, you have to be better than average.
Beautiful, challenging course!
The Village Greens course is a beautiful, lovely, challenging, interesting course. And the scenery, as we road along, was just beautiful....a wonderful walk in the park "interrupted" occasionally by the fun challenges of hitting that ball towards the target!
My wife and I will be back!
Very nice, great price
I played with 3 guys who I did not know, it turned out to be very pleasant. They play together a lot, and I was comfortable with their skill level and pace of play. The golf course was in decent shape, a bit worn around the tee boxes and the ground in those tee boxes is quite hard. It was the 7th or 8th time I had played there, and this was my best round with a fine little 82.
Great $19 deal
We made a 348 tee time hoping to get close to 18 in.... But for $19 we gave it a shot. The greens were like glass and wouldn't hold anything... They needed some water. Overall good pace of play... Could have been a little faster if the ranger pushed the slower groups. I recommend this course if you can get a deal [>$35]
Unfriendly Staff
The starter and man working the pro shop do not know how to start tee times efficiently and are two of the most unfriendly people I have encountered. Ruined my experience.
Good course
Great value for this courses normal rates. Have played this course a few times. Rangers are usually good. Had one instance where the ranger told a female golfer in our party that she would be better off on the driving range. Pretty rude.
Not bad
First one off on a weekday. Played in under 2 hours. Course was all around average tee to green. Nothing spectacular, but nothing that would keep me from coming back for another round. Not an overly difficult layout. If u get a hot deal its absolutely worth the price.
Impromptu great expereince
Enjoyed the day as an impromptu round that I reserved on Golfnow an hour prior to teeing off. I was paired with three other singles. We had a great time and the course was in great shape. The rough is not cut too short so keep it in the fairway or you will be challenged hit a crisp shot on your approach to the greens. Fairways and greens are in terrific shape! I was able to test the sand as well a few times and found it very fair, ample depth of loose sand to get under the ball. Great day..thanks(
Foot Golf????
My son and I were extremely frustrated when all of a sudden there were groups of football golfers that just clogged up the course. We had to constantly watch out for all the kids that were running around on the course. It was very dangerous and I would not want to experience this again.
Woodridge
The course was really fun and had good pace, but the rough grass seemed a little too tall and sand traps were filled with water. Other than that, was great course.
High Ruff
Please cut the ruff to speed up play. Balls in the ruff were slowing us down on every hole.
Good challenge in very good condition
Greeting by staff starts round out right. Blue tees a challenge and greens are true.
