Reviews
This course is challenging
The course was in great condition the groundskeepers have kept this thing right it is a very very very likable course
Grand view
Grandview is a great course
Great Condition
Course has made wonderful recovery from being in the dumps, just a few short years ago. It is now in great condition, with fast greens, that are very true.
Best Bang for Buck
I play at this course regularly so I will give the negatives first then the positives. 1 This is the city run course so it can get over crowded and have slow play at times 2 there are not any water cooler stations on the course 3 situated by the river it can flood over after days of heavy rains which closes several holes 4 need cleaner restrooms. Now the good stuff. 1 Best bang for the buck in the city current prices run around $30 for 18 holes with a cart THIS IS normal weekday prices without any discounts. 2 senior citizen discount 3 course is usually kept in good shape barring the water/ river issue 4 staff is friendly 5 good learning course, ie easy to follow layout . I play 2 of the 4 courses in town and value wise it is the best. The others are privately operated so they are comparable with each other BUT much higher than Grandview. Overall I think you will like the course, and again the BEST value for your money in the area
Recommend
Great course for the average golfer. Challenging but not ridiculous. Wide fairways.
Slope
Course plays short, however the fairways are wide open for average golfers. The course provides a good experience for all around handicap golfers.
First time here
I was surprised at the beauty of this course. I don't think there is a level place on it. Up and down and around. It has several blind holes, can't see the flag from the tee box, which for the first timer is a little challenging. There are only two par 5's, on the back nine, the rest are various length par 3's and 4's. Not much sand or water here, which I liked, but there are still green side grass bunkers to avoid, you just don't see them. For a muny the course is fairly open with some tight green and tee box locations, so stay alert.
With all the rain and having some low areas there was some ground under repair, but it was obvious they take great efforts to keep the course playable.. I was plesed with my experience and will be going back again soon.
Fun course
The front 9 was in great condition and great fun! They had some recent flooding so the back 9 was not in the best condition. We met the head groundskeeper and manager and I am confidant they will get the course back in shape quickly. Nice laid back staff and a good time for all.
The course is short with decent greens
It's a really short course with several holes driveable. The greens are in decent shape and will hold most iron shots. Overall for the price it was nice to get out and play.
In a nice neigborhood
Grandview is where I play the most because of the value. I play thru GolfNow.com and its great. Would recommend to anyone!
Back from the Abyss
This course was failing, weeds terrible greens, etc. but approximately 4 years ago the city decided to save this anderson land mark that's been in use since the 30's . Fairways are great geens smooth upkeep is now top notch thumbs up to the club pro whose name escapes my mind at the moment..
Great city course
One of Anderson nicest courses! Will play it a lot this year super nice!!! Way better than fall creek for sure!
Great value
Usually play at grandview once or twice a year. I will certainly be playing it more this year. Booked 18 holes and a cart on golf now for 16.40 per golfer on a Saturday! What a great deal. Course is in great shape. It was busy but tee times were spaced enough to play 18 in 3.5 hours. They are getting a new restaurant at the course. Those of you from the area will absolutely know the Curve from Alexandria. They are opening a 2nd place at grandview. Another reason to play there, great meal after a round of golf!
Good value
The course is in decent condition. It is short, so if you insist on driver off the tee you will be hitting wedge even if you are not a long hitter. all 4 par 3's are challenging. If you go out with the right attitude and expectations, It is an enjoyable course. If you play smart, even a high handicapper can shoot in the 80's.
Fun Course, Friendly Staff, Great time
My friend and I (both Ladies) played this course. It was fun, challenging, great team. We will be back
Great Course
This was my first time playing here. GN made the price GREAT :) The elevated tees and some greens made for a fun day of golfing. I will be back!!
Getting better every time I go there
I've been golfing at this course for 3 years now. And it keeps getting better each year. Greens are well cared for and fairways are in good shape. Course is just the right length for begginers to play but still challenging enough for better players. Lots of different shot shapes available to play. It's one of my favorite courses.
Very hilly, but a beautiful view
The course is one of the nicer public courses in the area. the greens look fantastic, and there are plenty of trees. There weren't a lot of sand trap or water features but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. This course is extremely hilly, i'm glad i got a cart with my green fees.
Challenging
This course is challenging with the hills and improve growth. The greens were in great shape. I would recommend this course as a bargain.
