Great time taking my grandson golfing
We had a great time and enjoyed the weather. Course was dry and hard to get tees in the ground but still had lots of fun.
Thanks for everything.
They screwed us!
We scheduled our tee time online the day prior for 8:52 a.m. keeping mind we are driving from fort Wayne. At 7:15 we get an email cancelling our tee time. Now we can't find another morning tee time anywhere we want to go. They didn't even offer us any compensation for our inconsiderate inconvenience. They completely ruined our day. I wouldn't golf there again if it was the last golf course on earth (not that they would honor the tee time anyway) !!!!!!!!!
Once this course has time to recover from recent construction, it will be a staple for many. I’m afraid it will need another year or two. Clubhouse/pro shop could use some work.
Interesting
Tough greens, interesting course. Staff was extremely friendly.
Confusing Course
Price was right but you get what you pay for. Course was in "transition". The owners were adding new holes and eliminating other holes. All the holes were renumbered. Course map was ESSENTIAL as the signage as to the next tee box was nonexistent. I rely heavily on my Garmin watch to get accurate measurements to the greens but was absolutely worthless this day as none of the holes matched to the Garmin watch (I even tried to search through the holes on my watch to determine which "Garmin hole" I was actually on but then the watch wouldn't adjust). Later found out that hole 10-12 were the old 1-3 and the Garmin helped on those holes. Once they get it completed and reset with GPS, this course should be a fun to play. It was just frustrating playing on it the first time and not knowing exactly where or how far you should hit the ball. There is a lot of water on the course, so I suggest you go buy some "Wilson floater balls" if you slice or hook a bit. No toilet facilities out on the course, only at the clubhouse.
Management seems nice, but this place needs work
They did say that there was a lot of construction going on, but man… that was an understatement. The cart paths were not worthy of driving or being deemed cart paths. They also mentioned they were changing holes which made the layout seem weird and not fluid.
The holes were good - ish. I quit at hole 15 because they allowed a group of 6 to go? I’ve never heard of this at any golf course I’ve been to. I took my stuff to my car and packed up. The woman at the front asked if I was done, I mentioned “No, but there’s a group of 6 ahead of me and I am not going to wait on them.” The gentleman offered to get them out of my way, but I already packed up and was ready to head.
Maybe in a few years I’ll be back, but not this summer.
I used a golf passport and only had to pay for the cart - or the value would have gotten a 1 star as well.
Hope this place gets better!
Renovations in progress
To be fair we were given a heads up on course conditions by the owner prior to teeing off. I am excited to see this course once all renovations are completed, lots of potential! Will be back.
Good play
Being my first time playing timber ridge I left a few shots out there. The layout and length is nice. The back has elevation changes and some water on both mines. I enjoyed the round and will play again.
Cancelled
We had booked a 2 some for early afternoon.. As soon as we booked, we got a call from the golf course, they were NOT going to honor our GOLF NOW reservation. They were not going to let anyone on the course that paid 10.00. They have a contract with GolfNOW for their website and online booking as well.. for that the golf course exchanges tee times. Usually 2 foursomes per day.. I recall another golf course that said the same thing.. we are not going to let anyone on our course for that cheap.. that course is now just weeds and closed..I guess having bodies there, that may want to have something to eat and drink during the turn and after the 18 is not important to management at this course, as it was not at the one that had to close for the same poor management decisions. I will NOT recommend this course to anyone.
Course to getting better!
Course is getting better. Still some weeds to fight but Bruce is doing a great job.
Basic Public Course
This was a typical public golf course. The fairways are close together. Other groups coming the other way hit into our group twice (didn't warn us either time), and of course someone picked up my ball on my very 1st drive and I had to claim it back. The grounds were fairly dried out and its only June.
Despite the negatives, it was a fun round, especially for the price I got. 3 people at $55 (included $10 off using a promo).
Par-fect time
Lovely course layout, not to compact but not too spread out either. Greens well kept. Lots of holes with water in play which makes each hole a little more challenging. Great time.
Great course...
I joined Timber Ridge this year and my kids and I love it. Great course layout, always well maintained and great clubhouse. The members and staff are always friendly and courteous.
Great Course
This course is worth the drive from Fort Wayne. The course was in very good shape considering how dry it's been.
Very peaceful. All mowing completed by our tee time (2:10PM). No one pushing us or slowing us down. Enough trees and water to make the course challenging, but not too much so.
I may have a new favorite course on Golfnow.
The owner, Bruce Imel, was very friendly.
