There are several exciting holes
This was the first time ever playing this course, It is kind of early in the season, the fairways were kind of rough, filled with dandelions, I can't wait to play it in June to see if it is in better shape. All in all a pretty nice course, there is a lot of water, I think all but 1 hole has water. I will definatly be playing it again and often
Deceptive Response from Pro Shop
I called the pro shop at Eagle Glen before I purchased a tee time. I asked about course conditions. Response was that the fairways were soft but everything was fine to book a tee time. So when I go to the course, I find out that it's cart path only and the tee boxes were closed. If I would have been told this in the first place, i would not have come.
Verrrry dry with unreasonable distances carts are routed away from the greens
Why did I rent a cart when I have to park it and walk if my ball is within 50 yards of the green and walk, unless you are on a cart path. You can't make a dent in the grass anywhere but maybe on the green, so why the restriction for carts making people walk unreasonably?
Nice scenic course in Columbia City Indiana
Course plays well with some difficult holes, well worth the play
Monday Afternoon
Play early Monday afternoon. Very few people on the course. Two of us played in under three hours.... Above average condition. Only one "why did they do that hole" .... Good value...
Nice layout `
this is a very nice layout with many challenging and diverse holes. Unfortunitally the course maintanence needs stepped up to make this a great course. The large sloping greens are in great condition, roll true, and are protected by well placed sand traps. The fairways are in fair shape, but the tee boxes are in poor condition. There were weeds in some of the sand traps and in the fairways. There was an employee working on one of the tee boxes, he was very cordial moved out of our way when we teed off.
The course is very unique and beautiful.
I had a fantastic time on this course. I played it from the gold tees to get the full effect. That definitely made if more challenging. Although I had a good day, I was still only able to shoot a 75. I will be back!
Good for the $
It is a fun course to play, and you cant beat $11! The course has a few holes that needs a little work, but overall decent shape.
Very scenic layout.
The pro shop staff was super friendly. The greens were in great shape, however, the fairways and tee boxes were in poor condition. It was a neat course to play and for the money, I would play it again when I am in the area.
Great value
Played this course twice now. For the money I can't think of a better place in the area to play. Staff in the pro shop has been great. Nice fairways and great greens for the cost of play.
excelent value
friendly staff. teamed with another 2-some made course play timely. playing partners gave ball placement hints.
Variety Rich Environment
This is one of the courses I enjoy the most, definitely in my top four area courses. I would recommend this course to those who enjoy variety when they play. From the very first hole that encompasses water, an undulating fairway, and a hidden green to wide open "links" style holes and par three holes nestled in forested areas-this course has it all.
When playing with friends, I ask them if they would like to play a quiet yet challenging course and if they do, I take them to Eagle Glen.
Great Value
The deal off golfnow was a great value for Grey Eagle. The course wa in good shape even inspite of all of the rain. Very glad it wasn't cart path only. Bruce in the club house was nice and very accommodating, he was flexible with our tee time.
Friendly challenger
Course was moderately challenging. Small hilly greens on most holes, which made putting more challenging (a good thing).
Nice layout . Four sets of tees. Greens in very good shape.
Bruce in the clubhouse was very helpful and went above and beyond to get us started and help at the turn. Course layout goes from quite easy to quite difficult. Good variety. Great value.
This course has more than one personality.
By that I meant that I was pleasantly taken aback by what Eagle Glen had to offer by the way of variety in a single 18 hole round. You will encounter elevation changes, trees, water, doglegs, tight lies, some housing, a few treeless links style holes, and tucked pins on subtle greens. A delightful combination of holes that has you using every club in the bag. The course was in good shape despite some recent flooding. The staff were cordial and efficient, and our tee time was honored to the minute. A shot maker's course as opposed to the long hitters', Eagle Glen offers an enjoyable yet challenging experience that won't take 5 hours to complete.
Columbia City's Finest!
The course is in great shape, but the asphalt cart path needs replaced. The path has buckled in certain areas and has grass/weeds growing on it. New owners took over the course in 2012, so hopefully they will work on re paving the path. The course is in pretty good shape, except for hole #10. If you land the ball 50 yards short of the green, you will have difficulty hitting it out of the peat moss, that is, if you find your ball. All in all, it is a decent course.
This course is horrible
It needs a lot of attentions on the fairways and cart paths. Also, the rate of play is horrible because they don't monitor the tee times very closely... Also, they have a lot of problems on the back nine with standing water and grass shavings all over the course..
