Beautiful course and views of the lake
First few holes are along the lakes and beautiful. The course was in good condition except a few bad spots on a couple greens, as are many courses around the area. I would play here everyday if I lived closer. Great deal on GolfNow
Can't Beat The Value!
For the money, this course offers a tremendous value. The course itself is on good shape. The rough was a little inconsistent. Some fun/unique holes. The pro shop attendant was very friendly. Carts are in great shape. The weather was hot when I played and unfortunately, no beverage cart. Come prepared with ample hydration.
Great course
This a well maintained course that have some really nice views of the lake . The course has some monster par 4's that are almost impossible for the average golfer but they have a few short par 4's to even it out.
Worth to go
For the first time I played there. Course was good. Green condition was also good. Only my problem was the address from Golf Now was incorrect. when I put googl map as indicated by Golf Now, it reached to a middle of town, not a golf club.
Scenic
Several of the holes lay along Lake Shafer and are very beautiful! There are 3-4 holes on the back 9 that a lot generic but over all this course is great with a lot nice scenerie. Great course
A Tale of Two Nines
This course is so fun to play. It has everything - scenery, challenge, excellent conditioning, great staff. The three opening holes are right on the lakeshore - very scenic. The front nine puts a premium on accuracy and shotmaking with elevation changes and tree-lined fairways. The back nine is little more wide open but puts a premium on length. The course conditioning is excellent with some of the best greens I have played - fast & true with subtle nuances. The rough is thick and will, at times, penalize an errant shot. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. A first class facility and operation.
Excellent Conditioning
Beautiful golf course with two distinct nines. Front nine is shorter and tight placing a premium on accuracy while the back nine is longer and more open, placing a premium on length. The opening holes run along the shores of lake Shafer - very scenic. The course consists of bent grass tees, greens, and fairways with thick bluegrass rough. Course conditioning was excellent with the best greens I have played this season. They putted true and were rolling 11-12. The staff was friendly and professional.
challenging
beautiful fairways, greens not so much. bunkers have A LOT of small gravel in them. needs more tee boxes for different age/skill levels got stuck behind an 8 some on the last 2 holes. no excuse for that on a Sat afternoon
TCC
Course is in beautiful condition - GO PLAY !
Just wish you could buy beer before starting the round
Pleasant Surprise
I played this course on a golfnow hot deal. I thought the layout was great. The opening holes by the lake are great. There is also some elevation changes which was cool. This is a course I'm ready to play again because there are some blind tee shots you can't be ready for unless you play more than once. Overall I thought the condition was above average except for the greens. The green complexes are good, but some greens are rough, with uneven growth/ cutting / spottiness. The greens reminded me of an old miniature golf course. This would be closer to a five star facility if the greens were smoother and firmer. Overall, it was an absolute blast to play, and I would recommend playing the course as a weekend getaway. The staff I met were super friendly. For Indiana, it's very picturesque and a lot of fun.
Perfecr
Great difficulty, great layout, great condition! Will definitely be back
