Old & New
The front nine looks like a goat pasture, relatively flat and straight, but the greens are well protected by bunkers, ridges and undulations. This is the original 9 holes, the old part of the course. The new part (the back 9) is completely different. Different grass, different sand in the bunkers and different layout. There are some formidable holes in the back......some will force you to pull a long iron or wood just to reach the green in regulation others have narrow fairways, bordered by trees and then there is the Par 3 16th....200+yd table-top green...happyday! I really enjoy this course......it's a challenge in disguise.
This course has great potential. The back side made the course playable again.
Fairways needed to be more distinguishable. Greens had quiet a few dead patches. Bunkers needed more sand in them. Blue tee boxes were not mowed, nor maintained. Greens were receptive and putted well.
Very Fun and great value
Front 9 is forgiving and gives you a little time to warm up for the tough back 9. Great course, well worth the short drive from Indy.
