5-star Experience
I was flying in and out of Ft. Wayne. Noticed this course upon arrival right across the street from the airport. My flight out was delayed, so I stopped for an afternoon round. I'm glad I did. This is a fun course, in great shape, with wonderful staff. Bob and the pro shop guys hooked me up with a very nice set of rental clubs and got me on my way quickly. I can't recommend it enough and am adjusting my schedule for the return trip next month.
A Fort Wayne Favorite!
Brookwood Golf Club was designed in 1925 and is one of the oldest courses in the area. Playing 6,716 yards for the tips, it’s a par-72 golf course with multiple tees that will appeal to all levels of golfers. Featuring bent grass fairways and the POA and bent grass Greens that are maintained in great condition during the playing season. Most holes future several fairway and greenside sand bunkers that will add a degree of difficulty to the course. All the Sand Bunker were rebuilt in 2005 and filled with lush white sand. Due to tree issues several hundred trees have had to be cut down over the past few years offering golfers a little more forgiveness off the Tee. The finishing three holes set up nicely for Birdie opportunities and can give you a chance to lower you score.
Play is typically well paced. Except during leagues Monday thru Friday 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM can be a bit slow.
The Staff is very friendly, professional, and accommodating.
Brookwood also offers a well-stocked Golf Shop, Club Fittings, Lessons, full Size Practice Range, a Short Game Area, a Large Putting Green and a challenging 9 hole Par 3 Course.
The Brookwood Grill offers good Food, Beer and Drinks.
The course is challenging but beautiful.
I've played Brookwood many, many times and it's still my favorite course. There have been a lot of new courses built within 50 miles of Ft. Wayne, but I still like Brookwood the best.
