Great to be out this early in the year. Course in decent shape this time of year.
The pride of the Fort Wayne Parks
Foster Park Golf Course is the pride of the Fort Wayne Parks system. It features a 18-hole layout and plays to par 71. The tree lined fairways along with three of the five par 3’s playing at or over 200 yards can make this golf course more difficult depending on the strength and weaknesses of your game. You will find the occasional fairway and greenside bunkers that will require some skill to escape but most are somewhat easy to play out of. The greens are well maintained and you will find yourself with some tricky putts if you don’t keep the ball below the hole. The surrounding park and woods along the Saint Mary’s River make for a scenic golf course but also creates big issues from flooding. The golf course was closed most of 2015 with the late spring floods and reopened in the late fall after extensive restoration. The fairways are in good condition with a few thin spots and even fewer bare spots. The greens and the layout are what I enjoy the most about Foster Park Golf Course. All in all this is one of my go to golf courses when my normal course is having an event.
Tip: Make sure to bring some mosquito spray because they can be quite bad at times.
