Fair Test
Pretty open on the front; some tight holes on the back. Not very long from the green tees. Generally low stress for most shots.
Had a great time
Course was mostly open but there is a few holes that require a degree of accuracy. Pretty fun, definitely worth the play.
Excellent Value
Course was in good condition, greens were excellent...all this considering all the rain we have had, great job.
Besutiful
For this time of the year, this course is in a besutiful shape. Love it and hope to play it again!
Always Good
Honeywell never disappoints as the course has a solid layout that requires accuracy but will yield a good score with solid iron play. The greens were a bit slower than normal today but were in fantastic shape. The fairways were in great condition as were tee boxes. I am not a fan of the clay like sand in the bunkers but that can be avoided with some accurate shots! Price was only $21 per player through GN which is a steal!! Golfers in Indy and Ft Wayne can easily pay 3 times that fee and play courses not in the league of Honeywell. I highly recommend this course.
Two Distinct Nines
The front 9 at Honeywell is a classic back and forth design with smaller greens that feature some slope.Holes 11-17 are nothing like the rest (10 and 18 are back and forth too) where suddenly you're playing a tight course with ponds and/or narrow fairways with little room to miss as you meander through the woods. On the front you can spray and find mostly mature trees as your only problems. But on the 11-17 stretch, you have to know where to go/miss.
Conditions left a bit to be desired as it looks like they've struggled with recent rain. Some fairways showed a lot of damage spots, especially in low-lying areas. Greens rolled ok, and most were in good shape. Tees were pretty chewed up. Course was dead in the mid-afternoon on a Tuesday and I got around in under 2 hours solo. Looks like at one point in its life it had not only a slightly different layout, but also was a country club as you enter and pass beat up old tennis courts and such.
I wouldn't go out of your way to play it but if you find yourself in Wabash it's worth a go.
Good Value for the Money
On the app the rate was $34, but when we showed up the rate was much cheaper. The greens and fairways were in great condition. It was a bit of a drive for me, but if I lived closer i would play often.
Nice course layout and friendly staff
Our foursome enjoyed our Memorial Day outing at Honeywell. Staff was very accommodating. We completed our round in less than 4 hours and the course was in good shape. We will be back in the future.
Nice Course
Front 9 is average. Back 9 had a lot more character. Course conditions were fine. No complaints. If this course were closer I'd play it more often for the $30 range.
Great course
Neat mix of 9s. The front is 1940s, the back 1980s. I really enjoyed this course. Fun layout, the greens are tougher than they look. Couse was is fantastic shape. No restaurant, but I got a huge all beef dog and a few beers at the turn and I was fine. Staff was great, a really enjoyable afternoon.
Real Heartland course
As usual Arthur Hills has done his miracle designing skillfully this course for all levels of players. Course management skills are essential for this course to work in your favor. Very well kept treasure of small heartland city worth for your money. I always enjoy my round of golf with my friends here. Cordial staff and decent practice facilities. No restaurant but find essential like drinks and sandwiches.
Great Place for a Round
Paid for 36 holes for the normal price of 18 with cart. Staff was friendly as always. Course was in great condition with perfect weather.
Nice course
Pretty challenging it was pretty windy today which added some difficulty to the course. Greens were in great shape and the bent grass fairways were in great condition.
good course for the area
Fairways and greens both very good. A few holes cross in front of one another and some of the layout is tight but a fun course to play.
