Sunrise Golf Course

Played around 10:30. Greens had been aeriated and sand filled the holes. Getting ready for the spring weather. They were cleaned up well. The layout was good. Easy to follow the course to the next hole. I hope to come back and play soon when I’m back to that area. Very friendly pro shop and staff. 41/2 star rating probably 5 when greens are ready for regular play.

I’ve played here very often and unfortunately it seems the condition and upkeep have really deteriorated over the last few years but it is still a decent course, especially for a public course. Sad to see fees increase so much over the years especially with the current shape of the course but overall I would still recommend.

Pros
The course itself was in fantastic shape. Greens and bunkers were really nice. Bent grass fairways and tee boxes. And tight challenging tee shots. Tough pin locations! Very fun course to play for a mid to low handicap golfer.

Cons
The course was over booked. People were waiting to tee off forever. Walk ons were being let go on the back 9 in front of people who got there with early tee times and were trying to make the turn. Then we witnessed several individuals who we assume were members just driving their personal Carts out onto random holes and jumping in front of us and slowing things down even more. No rules. No management. No Marshall controlling pace of play or anything.

Very beautiful golf course with tons of potential. But if you go to play this course you better book the very first few tee times or it's going to be a long day of waiting.

Arrived for an early round and there was no waiting. Novice players and we all enjoyed the experience. All the holes had their own challenges and it was a smooth round. Solid course and we plan to go back.

Great course for the money well maintained and friendly clubhouse.

Good facility, overall a great place to play! Roger the pro is top-notch and the staff are well trained. I reccomend this course!

Sunrise is a solid municipal course. It was in very good condition when I played. The greens were in excellent shape and the fairways well maintained. My main complaint with the course is that it only has one cut of rough (high) next to the fairway. So you can often hit a nice drive and have it trickle a few inches into deep rough. Add a first cut! The other issue is not course related -- just people related. As with any municipal course, there are many players lacking golf etiquette leading to sand traps that aren't raked, very slow foursomes and season-pass players jumping around the course rather than playing holes in order.

I have played this Course for 20 years and always loved it. In the past two years, it has been so neglected….. The carts are dirty, there are anthills all over the greens and tee boxes are not mowed

Go it a great place love the carts comfortable seats and the gps on the carts is awesome we will go again for sure !

I know the course was recently purchased but it was nearly unplayable. That greens were ate up with algae and the fairways were horrible. That back nine shouldn’t even be open there were uprooted trees and massive areas of mud in the middle of fairways and the mud smelled like pig manure.
