Not bad
Greens were a little sketchy but all in all not a bad time
This course is somewhat challenging.
Pine View could be a great course if they maintained it better with cleaning up their sand traps and other things.
PACE: Went out as a single on a slow Sunday morning. Never had anyone ahead or behind me.
CONDITIONS: Tee, fairways, and rough are all cut to the same grass length... I would call it "light rough." Also, the ground was quite hard. The greens seemed long, but rolled well. The bunkers were not good, and I played them at GUR. Also, playing in early October a lot of the trees were dropping their seeds/nuts and these were found to be embedded within several of the greens.
I will note that they appear to be improving tee boxes (new grass) on several holes.
STAFF: Friendly and helpful.
VALUE: The online Hot Deal rate appears to be the fair price for this course. The regular rates are a bit too high given current conditions, and other local course options.
LAYOUT: Front 9 is a bunch of down-and-back holes. The par 3s are a good change of pace on the front. The back 9 is much more interesting/fun as it has a few holes that bring a creek bed into play (#14 is a fun approach shot). The par 3s on the back are challenging, and I'm glad I had the wind at my back for #17.
Given the quick pace and straightforward layout I was able to play 18 and be back home in time for football on Sunday... WIN! Good course for beginners and high handicaps.
I have played better places before.
Why are there rakes in what could be sand bunkers? There is no sand but there are rakes. A good place for beginners not worrying about losing cheap golf balls. Players with good skills will skip this place.
