Solid day at Copper
Course was in great condition, fast greens even with a little rain. 12:54 tee time and had the cart returned and clubs back in the car by 5:20. Great place to golf!
Good course
Well maintained. Good green speed. Last three holes are a little short.
Neighborhood Course Tucked in Nicely
Nice, short, yet challenging course. Most of the front is wide open. #9 gives you a good taste of the back...tight with well planned and placed shots needed. The 5-3-5 start wakes you up quickly. Good elevation changes. Greens are big and ungulating. Most slope back to front, so be below the hole for best results. Greens were quick and course was in very nice shape. Would play again with a HotDeal.
Great value
Amazing bang for the buck. I definitely got lucky on this deal. The course overall is Very well kept and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Can't wait to play again. Seem to have daily deals to keep interest of general public and I will be referring future customers.
Excellent Course
It's a very great course. It's challenging at times which for someone like me I enjoy. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The only downfall I would say is the pace of play can be very slow at times.
Greens
The course was in pretty good shape but the greens were not good. Greens just seemed not well manicured. There were also a couple holes that leaves covered the greens, #'s 15, 16, & 17. I understand it's that tone if year, but it didn't look like they had been cleaned at all yesterday.
I like the course, just a bit frustrated with the greens
Not impressed
This was my first time playing here. Understaffed, didn't have any coolers for our drinks, course needs attention. One of the worst course layouts I've ever played. Tee boxes seemed like they hadn't been mowed in 2 weeks. No consistency to be found.
Good Layout
I golfed with my wife and we had a wonderful time. The course has some challenging holes and the greens were in good shape.
Beautiful weather the day we played.
Club house check-in, staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
weekend indes moines
we were visiting for the weekend and decided to play golf. nice place to play. i would definitely come back if i'm in the area.
Nice course
Challenging course especially on the back nine. Hit the shots straight and you will be ok. Definitely will play here again.
Love the course
Course and staff were wonderful.... A lot of the tee boxes were pretty messed up though. That was the only downfall of this wonderful place.
course condition
The tee boxes were very patchy, missing grass. With all the rain we've had this year, that is unacceptable. The greens were really beat up with ball and cleat marks.
coarse condition
From front off tee to front of green the coarse is in excellent condition especially for the lack of recent rain. The (white)tee boxes left something to be desired. Very rough, hard to find a clean area to hit from on many. I am not exaggerating when I say we repaired at least 10 ball marks on every green. Definitely not a reflection of the quality of the coarse, just the type of clientele your dealing with. Clubhouse is great and the manager (Noble) is one of the best around
Just right for a bogey golfer.
Lovely course - would play again if I had an extra sleeve of balls for the woods.
Good course, Good value
Played this course on a last minute GolfNow rate. Course was in Average condition. Some greens were very spotty and Tee boxes were spotty. Overall a fun round at a good price.
Need to step up their game
This will be a bit of an odd review. I am actually a season pass holder, and while I easily played enough golf to pay for the pass, I won't be renewing my pass next year.
The problem for me has to do with course setup, an specifically about two things -- pin placement and condition of the rough.
Pin placement is such an important yet overlooked aspect of course setup on public courses. Copper Creek's greens are extremely undulating to begin with, and certain positions are nearly impossible. It seems every day I play, there are at least 6-8 pin positions that if you have an 8-foot putt, you pray you can just get it close. Some putts are so fast that you can't do more than start it rolling, but the greens are so pitted with unrepaired pitch marks that your putt has little chance of holding its line. It's just not fun to putt.
My second problem is with the condition of the rough. It is kept so long that missing a fairway, even by a few inches, can leave you with a nearly unplayable shot. It is often so thick and long that you can easily lose a ball even when you know where it landed. There is no second cut, which is simply unfair when the primary rough is this long. Worse yet, the rough goes right up to the green, with maybe 3 feet of fringe. That means pretty much every time you miss a green, you're chipping from the rough. This is not the US Open. I don't want to go out every day and beat my head against the wall.
For these reasons, I won't renew next year. If you are visiting or looking to play a single round, be forewarned. You will experience 3-putts, and you'll probably be sore from chopping the ball out of US Open rough...unless you simply don't miss fairways. In which case, why are you playing here?
really like the back nine
decent course fun to play good friendly staff Had a great time playing
