Nicely maintained course

Played course as a single. Not many players on the course surprisingly considering the nice weather. Everything was in good condition from tee to green. Will most likely play this course again.

Best course in Lexington

Every whole offered a challangeing experience. Every whole mad you think about your club selection because of the doglegs. You defenetly have to know how far you hit your clubs. hit the ball to far you are in the trees, hit the ball to short you wont have a direct shot to the green. Also with the doglegs that makes it challanging is the fact that most doglegs on the inside bend of the whole has a bunker. It is with out a dout a great course to play. I Highly recommend you do.

Fun, strategic golf course with a quality design

This is my favorite course in the Lexington area. I generally like Rees Jones designs, and this is no exception. There isn't much elevation change, especially on the front 9, but the course has other elements which keep it interesting. Mounds, sculpted sand bunkers, small lakes and trees add color and variety, while the playing conditions are always above average. All of the greens are well-contoured and generally divided into multiple sections, so make sure to read your putts from both sides of the hole and take note of which section of the green you are on. There are five par 3s, five par 5s, and eight par 4s, and each hole plays differently. While there are a few ho-hum holes in the layout (6, 12, 13, 15, and 16 in my opinion), most holes have definite character and beauty. Holes 1 through 4 may be the most memorable part of the course--two reachable par 5s with water and two tricky par 3s. Hole 10 (another reachable par 5) is the most fun to play, as there are options off the tee and on the second shot. Watch out for the lake on 10--it juts out into the fairway on the second shot, and again just in front of the green. It is definitely possible to eagle number 10, but you can also make triple bogey if you don't play strategically.

Enjoyable round in the city

The last time I had played this course was in a scramble over 10 years ago. I thought I would try to get a quick round in on a late Saturday afternoon in the summer. While the course was in good condition and had some challenging holes, it was not a quick round by any means. We had to wait on every hole including the first one. To the pro shop's credit, they told me if I had come mid-afternoon that the course was wide open. They were packed in the morning, had a gap then got busy again late in the day for no apparent reason. I would definitely play it again and hopefully miss the crowd.
